SPECULATION The Last Skywalker

Well i know this is wishful thinking but Rey still could be a clone. Reylo is clearly is/was a big tease. If KR haves a child with a time skip it won't feel so odd.

 

Personally, I would have nothing against the future of the Skywalkers remaining unknown past IX. I mean, my preferred scenario is that Kylo redeems himself and goes into some kind of exile. And that's it - we may or may not find out what happened to him in the future. I believe that proper execution could make it satisfactory. I have a feeling, though, that J.J. may want to wrap this up definitively (which has its advantages - for instance, it's better than having major story points resolved in subpar novels or comics), so there's a strong possibility that Kylo just dies and the bloodline ends. In that case the big question is whether or not he dies a villain and this is where the end of the Skywalkers' story may become unsatisfying.

 

If he dies good or evil I'm more saddened of the family ending. Maybe that's why Lucas was so angry in the Rose interview. Maybe the plan was Rey Random all the long with all Skywalkers ded by 9. (With a surviving Leia past hear child bearing years, maybe).

 

Im still on the fence with this one. One part of me thinks they will leave the story open. Not saying they plan on more Skywalker movies but who knows 10+ years down the road. However, I have a hard time of seeing Kylo surviving. Maybe he doesn't and IX wraps up what Lucas started with RJ' new movies ushering in a new era of trilogies for the future.

 

i think Ben will survive, but his future will be left ambiguous.
he's going to have to go away one way or another, so they could send him into exile to keep the Skywalker genes on retainer in case they ever need them.

 

Yea, probably correct. Instead of him hanging on Mustafar, he may selcude himself on swamp world in a little hut thinking about what he has done until they need him.

Don't really care, if Kylo dies so be it. I find nothing precious in the Skywalker blood line. I find nothing precious in Kylo / Ben either. Will it happen? Probably not Disney are cowards.

 

I'm betting on redemption with a caveat.

Skywalker name doesn't live on, but Solo does.

Is there a reason the Skywalker bloodline should even return?
They essentially facilitated two massive genocides and caused billions of deaths.
The death toll at the hands of the Skywalker bloodline should make you really rethink it continuing on...
