Firstly, I really enjoyed these. Everything about them; the choreography, the cinematography, the emotion & the music.

But I also noticed that they take elements of previous duels, particularly Obi-Wan & Anakin v Dooku in 2 and both Luke v Vader 1 & 2. Note Anakin & Rey being flung aside before returning after their partner has been felled. Finn tagging Kylo like Luke tagged Vader before being dispatched with ease. Rey unleashing the force onto Kylo like Luke does to defeat Vader. I feel this ties into the sense of history repeating itself with TFA. Yes, it's like ANH in a good way, but it's also like the conflicts of the previous 60 years continue to crop up in new characters and personas, through bloodlines & legacies.

The duels are not only a perfect hybrid of those from the originals & the prequels, they also act as a key part of the wider story. Like the rest of the film, they absolutely nailed it. Oh, and the score to Rey catching the Lightsaber for me is one of THE great Star Wars scenes.

Can't wait to see it again.

I absolutely love the sound of the lightsabers in this film. This iteration really conveys the "weight" Lucas was talking but in the past, that it should feel as though the sabre itself is a force to be reckoned with.

With that in mind, the sound for Kylo RenĀ“s Force use was equally weighted to sound pretty badass.

I loved it. Kylo's overconfidence gets the best of him too.
