In the trailers for Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi we've seen several glimpses of roots that are speculated/elaborated to be of "the Force Tree" that Luke & Shara Bey recovered from the Empire's outpost on Vetine after the Battle of Endor in the comic Star Wars: Shattered Empire #4.

It has been speculated/elaborated that this tree was a sapling of the original Force tree that grew in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.

    ---

In Episode V: Empire Strikes Back, there is a piece in John Williams' score titled The Training of a Jedi Knight/The Magic Tree. I was shocked to see this! Assuming (as many of us are) that Luke plays a Yoda-like mentor/master role to Rey as she trains as a Jedi knight in Episode VIII, & assuming the tree in promotional materials is a Force tree, I had to investigate.

I found this article on Wookieepedia explaining what "The Magic Tree" refers to: The Dark Side Cave on Dagobah. An area extremely saturated with Dark Side energy.

Of course this is from Legends; but LF has been taking heavily from Legends in recent media. Could this lead us to have some inferences about how The Ahch-To Force Tree might influence Luke & also Rey? Is the Ahch-To Tree saturated with Light Side energy? GRAY Energy?

What do you all think about my finding?

The tree is just a library.

It's a McGuffin. The Kyber Crystals & Force Trees have replaced Midi-Chlorians.

So, just joined so I could engage in this discussion. I’m working from home today and, after a “new hope” being ignited by the D23 trailer, I’m listening to SW soundtracks. I look at my iTunes as the piece “The Magic Tree” is playing. Of course I’ve listened to these soundtracks most of my life! (I’m one of the few devout fans who actually precedes Star Wars by 2 years.)
I have been writing a fan fic novella for a few years now- ok, since before Ep VII was announced- and in it, before the Force Tree was announced in Ep VIII, I was using a Force Tree in my story, and it was tied to the Force Cave in Empire.
THEN, TODAY I see this piece that I’ve never noticed on the Empire Soundtrack!!! It’s as if “The Force” has been leading to this amalgamation of seemingly loose pieces!!
I’m so excited to find your speculation here and research this further!
As a side note, in my story, the Force Tree is just a kind of holy or sacred tool of the Force and the midichlorians are relegated to just another tool of the Force. Science is relegated to the supernatural, as it should be in this story telling genre.
