If they weren’t going to show it live then it doesn’t make sense to show it afterwards

I believe it a behind the scenes trailer though - like they did with some if the movies.

I had thought the Clone Wars event was going to be a premiere of a. Episode and would not be streamed so thanks for letting me know it Can watched.

I’m going to have to wait for the live stream to end though - I can’t rewind today’s stream like I could with the rest. Has anyone had this problem?

Was Alan Tudyk’s talk not broadcast or did I just get the wrong time? I tuned in but Doug Chiang was on. Couldn’t enjoy that though as I wanted to see it from the start - will watch it tomorrow properly.

 

as a person who paid to be there and won the lottery to get in to see it, i'm sorry folks, but fair is fair.
i've often criticized LFL marketing, but this is a smart one for them: give the paying fans something special even though they already know it will leak like a deluge, and everybody is happy. you'll all get it in hd soon enough, i'm sure. : D

all that said, i think the show looks like it could develop into something really fun and interesting.

my one criticism: the sets we get to see closely (and especially the interiors) really strike me as too spare, too uncluttered; they're almost too flat. it could just be this particular world environment, which looks a lot like Tatooine with those adobe-ish walls and minimal decor, etc.

my one nitpick: Pascal doesn't seem to move comfortably in that armor. that one moment when he sits down is really awkward.

the joys: the action looks fantastic! this looks like it will be a show populated with all sort of fun aliens, creatures, and droids; the ex-rebel character looks like she'll be an interesting headcase (i say that in the best way), and Carl Weathers is just, well, he's Carl Weathers! : D
i also loved those filthy yellowed stormtroopers and the kowakian monkey lizard roasting on the spit (thinking of you, @Choose Light, and Poe). XD

we got some cool posters afterward. of all the big arena panels so far, the Galaxy's Edge one had the best freebie, but the poster is still pretty cool.

p.s. i just noticed that the videos you guys have posted here are part of what we saw, but not all of what we saw.
we saw the whole opening sequence of what i presume is the pilot, and also a teaser trailer with some pretty badass action sequences (including IG-88).

p.p.s. sorry everybody, i'm trying to catch up to the conversation; apparently the footage is floating around out there.

 

I don’t know what criticisms you have of past criticisms but it is indeed only right that those in attendance get some visual goodies first.

It isn’t the first time though. The live stream had had blackouts in the past for this kind of thing.

What Herzog gave him was Besgar, it's the type of alloy that Mandolorian armor is traditionally made of. (Similar to damascus steel here in the real world) It became hard to come by, and some started making their armor out of regular old durasteel, which is not as strong. Thats why said it should be in Mandalorian hands.

I’m cutting way down on my internet usage as of now so as to avoid spoilers for the new Game of Thrones and Avengers.

I also don’t want to see anymore Episode IX or Mandolorian footage, stills or chatter.

I was looking forward to seeing a trailer or something. Ah well, I guess they just want to focus on the ST. I am looking forward to this far more.

 

It feels pretty goofy to me to only release the footage at the panel and not online.

I get the idea of giving the people there something special, but let's be realistic. Everyone's still gonna see the footage. They're just gonna see it on a crummy iphone camera instead of the slick HD you intended.

And the people who paid for Celebration tickets obviously still get craploads of stuff the live streamers don't get--exclusive merch, celebrity meetings, the whole convention experience.

In the end, the only one disserviced by holding back the teaser is Lucasfilm. When the teaser officially drops online, sure it'll be nice to see it in HD, but it's not gonna have that *punch* they want.

 

I'm not being negative, I love the movies and the new direction they are taking with Star Wars, but hearing a bunch of people saying what a wonderful experience it was to work with all these other wonderful people, even in troubled productions like Solo for instance, is simply not interesting.

Say what you want about GL, but he did know how to put together extra material and didn't dodge any bullet. TPM is very much unwhatchable, but the production documentary is interesting quality stuff.

Finally I feel the need to puke over this Coca Cola-thing too. This kind of capitalism corporate puke is what I was afraid of when Disney bought LFL. Luckily it has not affected the movies, at least not yet.

 

It's bizarre to me that they didn't release one of the trailers online, makes me think it's due to legal reasons.

That leaked episode footage was awesome though. I want more!

 

I understand the point that who had paid has the privilege to be the first in the world to see first news and videos of "something". It's completly understandable.

But as you say here, you have win the lottery just to be there. Be there, is a privilege, that some of us that we are in another we only can dream.
Hope videos will appear someday in hd for everyone, but i have my doubts.
Is like the teaser from RO, that short clip from a planet and war screams that appeared in a SWC. That clip never saw the HD light for everyone, something i coul not understand.
I think this Mandalorian clips are diferent and have to be in a platform in hq, but i am prepearedd for being disappointed

 

I have the sensation that in a couple of months general public will still be asking for this clips in high quality.
There is a considerable amount of footage here and it seems outstanding (I will wait to see all of it in proper conditions). The quality is still pretty bad. Don't see the point not to show for everyone later if they want to capture more public.
I know, I know, I have to be patient. I am just a little padawan from outer rim

 

Well, meanwhile, is what I expected.
One month later and general public has no opportunity to see the footage in high quality.
What's the point of that?

We will see yes or yes the show, no matter what, and they are playing with this.
I understand the point of showing only for SWC and bla bla.
But on the other side I don't understand why not to show it to general public. Is beyond my low knowledge.

PD and no, the best quality out there is still unwatchable
