Star Wars: The Mandalorian has found its composer in Ludwig Göransson, who is best known for his work on Fruitvale StationCreedBlack PantherVenom, and Creed II.

According to the official Star Wars website, Ludwig Göransson has been tasked with composing the score for John Favreau's Disney+ live-action series. Göransson issued a statement issuing his gratitude toward Lucasfilm and his hopes for what he can bring to the show:
Aside from working with showrunner and lead writer Jon Favreau, Göransson will collaborate with the show's five directors (Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Deborah Chow, and Taika Waititi) to develop an all-new take on the music of the Star Wars Galaxy. The initial season will have eight episodes, and as of right now, it is unclear if there are plans for more of the series beyond that.

YouTube's official Star Wars channel also has this update in visual format:

The Mandalorian is in development at Lucasfilm to exclusively stream on Disney+. The streaming service itself will arrive in late 2019, with the current production timeline on The Mandalorian potentially indicating that the show will debut close to the launch of Disney+. Other Star Wars content being developed for the streaming service includes a new season for The Clone Wars that gives the series its intended ending, and a Rogue One prequel series about Rebel spy Cassian Andor.

So it looks like it's gonna be a different kind of score. While I prefer my SW music as classic as possible, I'm fine with experiments in the TV realm. For now. :p

Not really. His score for Black Panther is pretty symphonic. If there will be any difference, it will be caused by the fact that he is a different person than Williams, Giacchino or Powell.

Creed (1 & 2), Black Panther, and Venom. I'm ready for him to come to Star Wars.
