I LOVED THAT SCENE. I was like "yeah ya little bastards who's laughing now!!!"

 

My favourite moment was when he shot IG-11 for trying to kill the baby. As a small child, he was saved from being killed by the Separatist droids and now he gets to save a child from a droid himself.

 

When you put it like that, it gives me goosebumps.

 

True, but what if Yoda transfers his consciousness to the Yodaesque babe? What if Yoda is an embodiment of the Light Side that becomes incarnate (avatars).

But if Yoda is Ashla (Light Side) incarnate, the Light could have a new babe born and Yoda die in the timeframe.

We know now that Mando has a heart and is not a ruthless Bounty Hunter. When he says “I can bring you in warm or cold,”; “dead or alive your coming with me!” (Judge Dredd) he actually leans towards bringing them in alive.

 

It would seem strange that Yoda doesn't know what his species name is? Or Yaddle for that matter. I mean, we know the Dinosaurs existed, but they're obviously extinct. Meaning the galaxy probably knows what that baby's species is. Yoda was well known on the Council and Palpatine's inner circle I guess-- politicians like Padme.

 

It could be Yoda cannot express the name of his species in Galactic Basic and that his native tongue would be impossible for the uninitiated to speak.

 

Since Mythrol mentions Life Day in the first episode, I think it would be awesome if Horatio Sanz did a new version of his SNL holiday song called "I Wish It Was Life Day Today."

I need this to happen because it doesn't look like Weird Al is going to make "The Saga Ends."

 

Is Life Day the Same as May 4th Be With You? Since The Force is the source and energy of all life in SW.

First off I have to say that the emotions that were evoked when watching the Kowakian Monkey Lizard observing his buddy on the roasting spit was awesome...

And now to the points I haven't seen made yet.

There is something off about the baby being 50 but still looking like an infant. The growth must be non-linear. Yoda lived to 900 and said he had been training Jedi for 800 years. If we take him at his word, and the details from this episode, then the next 50 years of life cycle have to get to the species being an adult...so a baby for at least 50 years and then a fast youth and adolescence to maturity in the next 50.

No one has mentioned that not only did the official guild as represented by IG 11 want the baby dead, and Herzog and the Doc wanted him alive and it was a non-traditional bounty, but who was paying for all of the mercenaries to protect the little critter? I think that the hunt for the species is going to be a theme that gets explored in more detail and may even be the season one macguffin. Maybe this is the tie in to the FO that has been hinted at????

There is a promo picture out there of the Mando in all shiny new Beskar armor, so I am thinking that the Mando gets his payment and the smith makes a full set.

The smith asks if the Mando has revealed his signet yet, clearly there is a lot more to this part of the story and revealing who he "truly is" is important. We already know he is a good guy giving up his earnings to support Mandalorian orphans, but are we borrowing from the EU where there is "The Mando" who is the spiritual leader of all Mandalorians?

I recall that before Lucas sold to Disney, he teased a live action series by leaning on a Mandalorian helmet, and that a series called Star Wars Underworld was in development and that "underworld" was specifically mentioned in this episode. I am guessing that this is Lucas' story and that this has been in development for a looooonnnggggg time. It totally fits in with Filoni's relationship with the Maker himself.

Random thought: They made it a point to squash any speculation that The Mandalorian is Boba Fett right away in EP1.

Good. I hope Mando Season I ends up being so good it gets an Emmy.

I have to say that I loved it!

Although I love the regular Star Wars movies and stories, it was nice seeing something that was not connected to all that. It's like a breath of fresh air.

The story was great with just the right amount of intrigue.

Now I want to talk about the music. I have to admit when I read the article the other day about the composer using recorder as a basis for the theme of the Mandalorian I was a little worried. BUT I loved it! I can't get that theme out of my head. Also the use of electric guitar within the textures he used really crated a unique sound scape for this world. I love John Williams but this score by Goransson is a real breath of fresh air. I got a western/gun fighter vibe off it right off the bat.

 

What I want to know:

1) Will Baby Yoda Pluah be for sale by Xmas?
2) Will they make toys of Mando’s Ion Rifle and Blaster?
3) Will they make Mando Masks for sale soon?

 

Great luring me into a thread full of spoilers you did. Admit I must that I was already here though.

Too late. But willing to stay away for another 3 months I was not.
Regards Mini-Me, I doubt the age of 50 years unless it was frozen in carbonite for more than 40 years.

 

I was in the Dollar trilogy in my head the whole time. So lovely!
