It's an inherent problem in massive films like Star Wars saga flicks and Avengers movies.
It's been that way since ESB.

Keeping tabs on Luke, Han and Leia while introducing a new cast of characters for people to follow.
    Same thing with the PT.

If you don't like it, that's fine. It's a preference. But don't say Favreau is a more focused storyteller when Iron Man 2 exists.

Can we keep this on The Mandalorian please? I really don't want to see more "beating a dead horse" opinions on other material.

Are we allowed to discuss spoilers here? There's one thing in particular that we need to unpack. LOL

Well, the ENTIRE Mando section has been labeled as an open spoiler zone by a sticky statement by me at the very beginning by the thread list, AND this thread is also tagged as spoilery...I guess with all of that warning, those whom enter, do so by their own decision, and I don't want to hear a word about it!! :)

i had a similar experience. i woke up at around 3, couldn't sleep, finally got my phone and poked at twitter, saw it was up, and immediately logged in and watched it. then i watched it again while i was getting ready for work. XD

definitely a strong overall OT sensibility. including both the goofy humor bits and the pacing. on second watch, i actually was surprised at how quickly it passed, though. i might have just been impatient to take it all in the first time.

i wasn't a fan of the first bounty guy either ~ was glad when he got carbonized so he would shut up.
that said, i was laughing out loud at the whole evac thing with the molting and all ~ our 2nd Star Wars toilet ever (first was in Rebels, which makes this our first live-action toilet ever). XD
i actually like how it's set up that he had no regard for droids (doesn't trust them, clearly).
also, this moment is great because it shows he's maybe compassionate, but maybe just shrewd. whoever hired IG-11 told him to kill Babyoda; he was told it was preferred Babyoda was brought in alive (though there was some drama about that).

With that said... let's talk about the ending. We have what a appears to be a baby creature that's the same species at Yoda. Apparently this baby is 50 years old? Which is a nice bit a lore. Based on the leaks from Ward from a few weeks ago all of this lore came from Lucas which is an awesome add for the series.

The 50 year old baby certainly changes the way I think of Yoda, but why is this baby so valuable?

Maybe the species is prone to force sensitivity and they (obvious Empire implications) are into that

what's interesting to me is that Herzog said he was all about restoring the natural order (emphasis on Order, there, folks), but he was okay with killing Babyoda, so is Babyoda perhaps...not natural? hmmmm....

    Good catch.
The only thing not natural was the CGI on the blurggs in the one scene. Yeesh. :p

I thought this was in regards to having Mandalorian bounty hunters? It sounded like there haven't been many around?

    Babyoda or GizmoYoda?

    Yaddlita? Yodita?

Can't wait until the first mash-up of Mandalorian warriors holding up a baby-yoda in a church-like painting. It's going to happen. It probably already has.

Oh no...oh no...there's gonna be a Baby Shark - Star Wars remix now...isn't there????

no, it was in reference to restoring the stolen iron to Mandalore.
i find Herzog's real allegiance questionable.

hahaha ~ easily the worst thing in the espisode.

Ah, that makes sense. Also, the images of The Mandalorian we've seen have looked a lot different as if he's restoring the armor throughout the season. So this makes a little more sense.

We also see some flashbacks that must have been when he was a child. I'm not sure what event that could have been, but maybe one of our smarter members has a guess?

In Star Wars canon we've only seen two of Yoda's species before this episode. Yoda and Yaddle were both on the Jedi council. Is it possible they're all force sensitive?
I got a good chuckle from that. He definitely deserved to be frozen for that reference.

That is what they are calling "the Purge" of Mandalore, presumably? Some kind of war there? Now that I think about it, that seems to be more of a GFFA spoiler than Babyoda itself...

MANDO, YOU PROTECT BABY YODA WITH YOUR LIFE. I think that was an ET reference at the end there right? Baby Yoda with the finger?

I'm 100% with you. I've heard others saying had HORRIBLE the music was but then they each went on to compare it to John Williams' score and saying his music is the only Star Wars music. I'm not a doctor of music or anything but I am a musician and thought this score did a good job of adding to the overall feel of the world while not being distracting.

I feel sorry for people who didn't get to experience the 70s. I was little but those were interesting times; Star Wars, Evel Kenevel, KISS, made for TV Marvel movies...the cheese ran strong. The Mandalorian did a good job of putting us back in the world of Star Wars without making it feel like it was a rehash. The most Star Warsy Star Wars since Rogue One IMO. The ending with the baby Yoda was so unexpected but so intriguing I was cursing at the TV for only giving me 39 minutes. Was it perfect? No, but no Star Wars ever has been and we've forgiven it for being so good at everything else. I'm all in and ready for episode 2.
