I'm gonna sound like an idiot, but I really thought they had done at least SOME of this on location. So yeah, this is some groundbreaking stuff.

I agree it's been a bit predictable and good at the same time.

The ONLY good thing about January is that in February we have the final season of The Clone Wars. After that we are gonna be truly screwed while we wait for season 2.

@DailyPlunge @Darth Wardawg Thank you for finally giving me some small comfort in not getting this until the end of March as it just means I have less time to wait until Season 2.

Yeah, and just wait till the Mando gets his jackpack--and a little mini jetpack for Babyoda. I will have to ask my doctor which tranquilizer is right for me. :p

Best episode so far and from Deborah Chow, so no shock there.
Finally some life from the lead. This is the change I said needed to happen and everyone got their knickers in a bunch over.

Good use of Chekov's Beskar too (that's how it's done David Ayers)

I have really enjoyed this series so far... I watch it by myself then with my 18 year old son and my 13 year old son. We all love it. Just glad that there is a new generation of story tellers and a new medium to present their stories that can bring generations together.

I love the pacing, a much welcome slowing down of action with the interspersed transitions gleaning screen time.
The mando unit at the end harkened back Clone Wars flashbacks! Loved it!
The book ends with Baby Yoda and the knob was a great technique used to show the inward development of Mando’s moral character... but he still is badass...
I love the “Warrior with a Heart” schtick.

    keep ‘me coming!

I think that this episode is going to be the most criticized of the first three— I absolutely loved it, *and* also felt it was it was a bit stiff and choppy in parts. *BUT* it has definitely moved “the ball” into an exciting level of play, to say the least!

It’s not that I minded the previous pace set in the first two, (also loved!) -but the second half of this (e3) was literally edge-of-my-seat explosive! Wheeeee!!! If it’s a bit clunky at points, so be it! I’ll take it!

Delighted to be watching this every week.

Just watched Chapter 3... What an episode!

The whole Mandalorian clan against the whole bounty hunter guild; that was epic! The standout was probably my most favourite scene of the series so far; I haven't been so excited about a movie/TV scene in a long time. Baby Yoda is obviously still the main star of the show though :D Was hoping Mando would not give it up so was very happy to see him coming back for it - although predictable, but very enjoyable. Also good to see Mando in his new shiny beskar armour; that happened faster than I expected. Can't wait for him to get one of those jetpacks now that he'd seen it in proper action. Also how cool are the Whistling Birds???

This is really the best Star Wars related stuff since the original trilogy (and the prequels).

So far I've loved all of these episodes, and I really can't pick one over the other. But I have to say, seeing all of those Mandalorians kick ass and take names was epic.

Anyway, I don't know if this was intentional reference or not, but I like how the Guild Leader survives. In Uncharted 1, Sully survives a similar way with a book.

This is like the beginning of a Zane Grey Western novel. The story is laid out for ya. If the guy wrote good enough, you are sucked in immediately, because you perk your ears at the sound of water rushing down hill, birds are singing, the sound of someone hurting, moaning....

I'm surprised how fast he turned though. I thought we would get some, for lack of a better word filler episodes. Show him go after bounty targets and what not. So now I bet the hunter becomes the hunted.

I'm ecstatic there's no filler. That was always my chief issue with Filoni's animated stuff - too much filler. The narrative drive of The Mandalorian is one of the more exciting things about it. The pacing reminds me of the OT.

It's a cool episode, no doubt. Darker and great action.

With all the Mandos stuff maybe a little Iron Man vibe, a little bit exagerated. Not my style, but I can deal with it. I bet the big Mandalorian in Mando's cave is Favreau. Sounded like him.
Maybe the weakest parts are when Mando arrives to the town (full of bounty hunters and curious eyes) without hiding the asset or anything. And then the fight, so many bounty hunters against one man (who send the signal to all of those aliens in the cantina at the same time? Weird).
I think it was pretty clear even in previous chapter that Mando would protect little cute green ball (love this little creature). The show is predictable, yes, but still the visuals make it a cool and amazing watch.
At this moment I don't think in a big scale (a whole univers or galaxy) with the show cause we always see the same sets, characters, environments and aliens everywhere. Maybe the story needs to open.

Still my opinion is 4 out of 5.

I think you nailed it with your prediction ;P

Have to agree a little bit with your opinion and thoughts

Very, very good. Only issue with it was the whole scene with Mando's underground. I was wait you guys say you hide from everyone by having only 1 go above ground at a time. I was like hey wait a minute. It isnt like you all where the same armor. Was like well you need some space to do something. Basically we have seen a big hallway with a blacksmith at the end.

Also the budget is starting to be shown. The sets are all basically the same. Rooms with dingy walls and to make them even less interesting we will make them dimly lit. Or they are outside. Doubt we will see any set that is really interesting or not basically a natural setting, just tweaked. Obi-Wan will likely be very much like this. Cassian show I dont know. I would love it to spend some time on Alderaan. The one planet I have always wanted to see more of.

What if we See Ewan.. as Obi Wan in this. Even just for a quick scene or two? What if Dave uses him, in all of his The Clone Wars armor glory as the person to save the Mando when he is a child? How sweet would it be to see a lightsaber slash through that clanker, then see Ewan reach in and "hello there". Or what if it was Anakin? Or him and Anakin... Holy Crap!! We could see this!

Wow I thought this episode was incredible! I don’t know if it was the “best” 30 minutes of Star Wars but it might have been the most fun 30 min!

At first I thought it was starting to slow with the trek to drop off babyoda. But there were a bunch of little interactions (the steering knob chief among them) that were teases to make you wonder if he was going to change his mind. Yes they drew it out, but for me it was building tension which I thought was really well done.

I loved the scene with the Mando underground too! I also noticed that he had the same flashback but it ended a little further along. I think they will show a little more each time and eventually something important will revealed.

I can see how some people might think this was cheesy... but when Mando got babyoda back and all the bounty hunters’ fobs started going off... I got out of my seat and said “holy crap things just got real!!!” With a huge smile on my face.

And as a big Clone Wars series fan, seeing live action Mandos with jet packs blew my mind. I literally had my jaw on the ground and was making some kind of weird gasping sound... it was just so cool to see! Again maybe not the best movie/show making of all time but HOT DAMN that was fun to see!

I also love the part at the end when Mando gave Yoda the steering ball. It felt like babyoda became his sidekick in that moment. I’m enjoying seeing that develop!

Next Friday can’t come fast enough!

This was my favorite episode so far. I'm enjoying this series more than I expected to and I expected a lot. What I'm not doing is watching it and comparing it to the saga films or the Clone Wars series or anything else. I'm just trying to enjoy the ride and not bring any baggage when I sit down to watch it. I could nitpick it and there are some things I think could be better in some instances but I forgive it. I let that stuff go and just soak it all in and I've re-watched every episode at least once so far. This series is meant to appeal to Star Wars fans young and old so if something seems too heavy for you or you kid, take it with a grain of salt. If something seems too silly for your sophisticated and oh so mature sensibilities just ride it out and know that it might have made someone else laugh or cheer.
I cheered and though it was predictable that Mando would go back for BY, I was happy to see it play out. What I find myself asking at the end is where will he take BY? It's not as if he's equipped to raise him and they won't be safe anywhere. Perhaps he will take him to Mandalore? The only Jedi known to exist in this time is Luke, right? I can't wait to find out what comes next.
