The Mandalorian S1E4

The different directors were brought to bring different own style or flavor if you like to the different stories in the show. I agree that this is very interesting concept. I just hope that they keep the pace and fit of the first 3 episodes and don't make it too watered. Making a show good for all is ultimately difficult. Especially difficult if it is based on Star Wars with so many fans, some of which hard core. Having a canon so reach is also making it difficult to bring something new. I am happy if they try to bring new things. Just remember this is The Mandalorian, space western about mandalorian bounty hunter, this guy is hardcore, this is not a love drama about a backwater world with unknown location.

I will speculate a bit here, both Niktos and Klatooinians are known to have tight connections with Hutts. Klatooine is located in the Hutt Space. Does this mean that the action takes place somewhere near or in the Hutt Space?

 

I think he is learning to be the opposite. Why else would they introduce a cute baby he is starting to love?

We also haven't seen the stormtrooper helmets on stakes yet...

Ahem.. that isn’t entirely clear. When MANdo has the flashbacks the mention of the Purge is spoken of and its assumed it was him remembering being in a genocide of Mandalorians. He also says he was Foudling, which indicated he’s like all Mando children.

Only in Episode 4 does he make it clear he is not a Mando of blood, but adopted.

Hmm.. I suspect a Raider was piloting it.

 

So the Razor Crest weapons, laser canons I assume, cannot take down a AT-ST? Maybe the weapons system on that antique are not working.

 

If you notice, Mando puts a bomb inside the cockpit and I believe we hear a scream. So I think it wasn't a robot or AI.

 

You make a fair point. Most pilots of AT-STs in the Imperial ranks train for years and know how to hit their targets.

I like how polite and congenial Mando was. I did did feel the quasi-romance with the Widow was a bit forced for an episode. This probably should have been a two parter arch, not one episode, to flush out a realistic bonding experience.

 

Still we have 4 more episodes where we haven't seen footage yet.

 

Sorry, hiding your lead's face for the entire series is lame.
Especially when you hire Pedro fookin Pascal. Just get a stunt man and voice actor at that point.

And he can't ever actually reveal it or he'd lose his status as Mandalorain.

 

The red light might be a customization provided for certain race preference. Those raiders might have enhanced infrared vision, therefore the red interior light. Amazing that this AT-ST didn't manage to hit even a single target.

I watched it again after reading your post. Just before he drops the grenade there is a sound like machine or some sort of droid with baritone voice. Doesn't sound like human for sure ... but might be just the sound system or some of the Raiders.

How do they call the beer there - spachka ?

What they've also accomplished is show The Kid with characters that aren't out to kill or clone him. An isolated village that has no knowledge of The Kid, that has a unusually large population of children of all ages and sizes. Most village shots have relatively few children running around. I saw very little of what I'd call modern equipment in use by the villagers. Basically none.

I think Cara Dune has a tinge of jealousy about the "widow". Her life has been harsh, also. I'd like her back with Mando for more episodes but we can't have too many traveling buddies. It's "The Mandalorian". Not "The Mandalorian and Crew".

 

I respectfully disagree. I don’t think is watered at all, just the opposite. I guess it really depends on your expectations and assumptions of the show. Yes, this is a show about a mandalorioan, but that does not mean if has to be non stop, fast paced “hard core” action. Ultimately, the show, and the mandalorian are what the writers make them, whether we agree or not. In all honestly, I am just trying to enjoy the show for what it is... fun entertainment.

 

Raiders obviously can’t hit stuff. Ironic because Chewie and Ewoks piloted a AT-ST and rained fire on the Empire:

Cara Dune needs some more backstory. It would be awesome if she’s an ex-Mandalorian woman! It would explain her and Mando’s similiar use of combat techniques in their tumble:

 

Yeah, I think the whole "keep on the helmet on" shtick is something the clan abides by, not Mandalorians. Both TCW and Rebels feature plenty of Mandalorians without their helmets on.

Nor the Deathtroopers, TIE fighters, Incinerator Trooper etc. Most of the action scenes haven't been scratched yet it seems.

Exactly I appreciate an investment in characters as part of storytelling we had saga movies where the plot AND characters stagnated.....wait nevermind..
