I posted this in the other thread for episode 3, hoping for a different episode, I will re-post here because I really love to read your comments. And because I really like to chat and speculate about future

Mando is again on a run ( thanks for that, I would not survive to watch him sit and sip patchka for another episode! ) .

Who is going to get to him first?

1. Those Niktos on Arvala-7 are ( most probably ) working for someone. Taking into account the compound, the sentry gun, the amount of cargo containers and the number of mercenaries - he is a very resourceful man. Most probably some crime lord, maybe some Hutt.

2. IG-11 repaired and hunting him again seeking retaliation. Never leave weapons behind which can be used against you!

3. IG-11 said his orders are to terminate babyyoda. Is it possible to work for a different client? Who's that guy who wants the baby terminated and why? What other resources he can put in the fight?

4. The Client mentioned that "he wants him ", so somebody else who is in contact with the client also wants babyyoda. Maybe he will get disappointed by the poor performance of the client and will take the things in his own hands.

5. The Client, pooling new resources, more stormtroopers or even imperial assets - tie fighters, shuttles, even maybe a full blown star destroyer. Always attack an organization cutting it's head first!

6 The bounty hunters gild, pooling more bounty hunters from other sectors. Most probably lead by Greef Karga, but possible also by another leader of the gild. Always check that you target is dead before taking off ( and take the beskar from him ) !

Have you noticed that his armor is not complete? He is missing the cuisse, the poleyn, the grieve made form beskar. He need more beskar.

That's good for Disney, at least with the merchandise they will make some money They need that to make more mandalorian seasons

Not to derail the thread, but Daisy is such charismatic and bubbly interviewer. Her only rival is Emilia Clarke and her eyebrows that can destroy all doom and gloom:

No dislike from me- I don’t have any issue with our Cara Dune taking down the main character, but- *subtle point* -I don’t think *punching someone on their Beskar helmet* would be a realistic part of the involved set of tactics. ...Maybe *pulling/shoving* at a helmet would make good sense, but a direct punch is an odd choice, from my perspective...but then again, I’m not a professional scrapper. So... Nothing woeful about showing Cara’s effectiveness/ equivalency as a warrior against our protagonist...(especially being portrayed by the well-known scrapper Gina Carano!) -as long as it’s done well. And overall, (other than the helmet punching) I thought it was *ok*.

 

Yeah punching Beskar steel helmet which can stop a lightsaber blade is very unrealistic.

I was thinking I wish Babyoda had been shot and that he had to use the Force to heal himself after a period of making Mando, Widow, and Kids worry. This would have added the tension the episode needed.

Having Babyoda shot would have been a clever cliffhanger until episode 5.

 

You still have pro and college football players still punch another player in the head when they get really mad while the player is still wearing a helmet. It's just a natural reaction in a fight. I wasn't bothered by it.

She was able to challenge Riddick:

 

Gina is 5'8 and fought at 140 lbs and it was tough for her to consistently make weight; meaning her walking weight is around 160 probably (if not a bit more). Pedro is 5'11 and probably 170lbs or so. He didn't seem to bulk up for this.

And tbh, while I love those John Wayne movies for what they are, his best roles are still like Rooster Cogburn when he is a disheveled downtrodden character who has to pick himself up from defeat. Even Eastwood is beaten in his most famous movies...how many "lead" changes are there in The Good The Bad and the Ugly. There's a reason the infallible cowboy hero was left in the 50s/60s. People stopped identifying with them. Because they get to be boring in a hurry.

 

That makes the blacksmiths comment about the Mando “choosing” their way and the other Mandalorians disrespect of him more understandable.

 

I think a hero can be vulnerable and not just an omnipotent gunslinger; I loved Mando’s tender moments with the Widow. But what I do object to is taking Mando down a notch to make Dune seem bada$$. If you want a woman to be as powerful and cool as the male hero, let her do it independant of making the male hero step down (appear weaker); this in point of fact is a disservice to a strong heroine; to boost her cred by making her just easily best the protagonist is poor character building. Instead show how she is equal in her unique skill set.

 

Disagree. This episode did a lot of good things fleshing out the character. I also think it set up some emotional connections that can pay dividends later on. My bet is by the time this series wraps this episode will not feel like filler in hindsight.

This wasn’t a Rebels “I just want to have a space whale episode” filler.

 

Indeed. He’s outsider and thus derided because his blood is not Mandalorian. Good catch!

I don’t get the never taking the helmet off thing... didn’t they take their helmets off all the time in Rebels? That’s a pretty intense thing to be all in on considering they could all remember a time when that wasn’t a thing...

Other than that I loved the episode. It really fleshed out how Mando has a soft spot for the vulnerable. I bet we’ll find out his people were peaceful and similarly bullied!

 

You think that’s bad. I’m in Florida for family and we went to Galaxy’s Edge. They had a HUGE spoiler just sitting out. Luckily I watched the episode before we went to heaven... I mean the park

Soooo correct. I saw it as character development. Yes the story was somewhat ( ok mostly) predictable but, we also got info that will develop Mando for later installments. Maybe it will help with the flash backs we're seeing.

 

You know, props to the kids for keeping Baby Yoda a secret... especially the kid who held it.

 

Ooh! Or if he stopped the blast mid-air like Kylo Ren in TFA!

 

Galaxy’s Edge almost spoiled it for me.

 

What I want right now is for Disney to allow me to watch any segment of The Mandalorian and not tack on a Have-To-Watch
Star Wars movie. I keyed in The Mandalorian Episode 4, I choose to see it, but I get the pass off to a Movie. Not my choice. If I
pay, I want to play my way.

 

Out of rage/frustration, sure. ...But a well-seasoned scrapper? Her gloves don’t *look* that thick... and from my limited experience, I’m guessing that would really muck-up the bones in one’s hand ... much worse than a bare fist/skull punch would. (?)

At the same time, I give full acquiescence to Gina’s experience.

That’s not a fair conparison. Kylo wields the Dark Side of the Force, Mando and Dune had a fist fight. If rules keep getting bent, SW is gonna be chaos like Kylo wants, “let it all die.”

I am curious what one does to join the Tribe? Is it simply wear the mask and never take it off? Or do you have to do an act to get in the clan?
