Sorry, we weren't supposed to have a sneak peak of TROS with this chapter?
    Have I missed something?

My best laughs of the day. Thank you, the pics were great. I relate to BabyY even though I know nothing about his species, his abilities other than what I've seen in the movies and pure speculation on my part. Points here are, He's a baby, at least by appearance. Like everyone else, I fell in love with the infant in the floating crib. The little bits of BabyY's actions presented in the few scenes he's in gives clues about him. Ninety Nine percent of the viewers relate to The Mandalorian, his past, his actions, whether he's a bad guy going good or maybe has hidden his true nature, his battles, his fight, his enemies, his friends. There could be no safe BabyY without the Mandalorian. at this time, this place.

Truth be Told: Nothing or anyone could save Star Wars except for a major blast of reason, a spark, to care about something from a man's dream. We were given that reason. The only thing we hard core game players, movie watchers, could be sparked by: BabyY . So, we begin again.

    Again, my own speculations.

That episode was really great! Not my favorite, but probably one of the best so far. Sad about the ending, but a good cliffhanger. I hope the dude is still alive! ...or Baby Yoda might have a really Dark (Side) ending for the season...

I see that Moff Giedon *cough* Gus Fring *cough* took a play from Walter White's playbook.

You take out Baby Yoda out of this show and it's completely empty.

Fantastic episode! Sad to see kuiil go down. Great character we barely got to know. Baby yoda's force use continues to intrigue and amaze. Is this the 1st force healing in cannon? Also pleased to see greef join the mando and cara. I love Carl weathers so I'm glad to be able to root for him.

I'm just as interested in the origins of the child and the mando as I am in these imperial remnants and their aims with the child. Moff gideon was introduced perfectly.

Click/choose EXTRA content on the Mando episode page and its there along with the Mando trailer.

According to my source, the mystery spurs guy may not be in the finale, but maybe revealed in season 2. Its not Moff Gideon because he is not wearing spurs. My source doesn't know why they would allude to this mystery and not put it in the finale.

Horrified by the ending of this episode! This is NOT the way! Such a good show and they have done so well creating a world that is part of the star wars universe without recycling any of it. I really hope moving forward we get to see more tv shows. Maybe Star Wars will transition into more of a tv format than a cinema format.

I did notice a clear thematic parallel in this chapter and in TROS and I'm confident this is why they released chapter 7 to sync in such a way:

The entire narrative arc of the Mandalorian is about character change, from chapter 2-6 this is the main theme. In chapter 7 the theme is established and a narrative parallel is given in Kuiil and IG-11 (paralleling that of Mando and the Child). Kuiil talks about the responsibility of the one overseeing the process of changing the nature. Mando is also specifically paralleled by IG in that theme, as both have a natural killer tendency due to prior "wiring" - Mando distrusts IG stating that no matter how much wiring is changed, the nature cannot be changed.

TROS is thematically the same. Kylo is paralleled to Mando and IG, and the relationship of Rey and Palpatine is the same as that of Mando and IG, in that Rey doubts and distrusts herself due to "wiring" - Kylo echoes Mando's doubts stating that both he and Rey are dark side because of their nature. When Kylo throws away the unstable saber, we see a shot of the wiring of the saber.

This establishes the main connection between the Mandalorian and TROS in that, in both we see the force being used to heal wounds for the first time onscreen. Healing is of course metaphor for closing wounds of the past. That relates directly to Ben Solo, and Rey as both are healed in turn by the hand of the other. There's a lot that could be explored about the thematic connection between the two - Rey and Kylo, Mando and the Child, Kuiil and IG, the Mandalorian and TROS (even story and audience) - and the diad (sp?) concept, but these are the things that immediately came to mind.

There is something very refreshing about this series isn't there?

There are many things I like about the series and I argue its proof that Jon Favreau understands the structure/methodology to telling a Star Wars story. He doesn't have to "monkey" what came before, he uses the same paint and brushes as George did, but he's not "paint by numbers" like the films are these days. It's still something new, something we haven't seen before and as such, it's delightful and refreshing.

My favorite part about this particular episode was watching Baby Yoda. Watch him, particularly in scenes where he's way in the background or slightly hidden. Watch his expressions, facial movement and gestures. Yoda is TELLING everyone around him things and like a lot of children, is completely ignored by the adults.

Watch his reaction when told that "Cara is a friend". Watch his expression as he watches an animal being roasted on a spit. Watch how he sees/hears imminent threats before anyone else does, listen to him squawk as he purposely tries to stop the adults from going somewhere dangerous.

    This is clever stuff.

The last few years Star Wars has been about as subtle as a hammer to the head.

Now suddenly, there's subtle character study and genuine surprise.

It's freaking miraculous, I honestly think Favreau just saved this brand.

Thought it was crazy that the stormtroopers got baby Yoda. And wanna see what happens. Sad the Uugnaught died. Predicted early that it was a set up but didnt expect the guild leader to shift sides.

Great episode. With each passing episode I get more and more of a Farscape vibe.

The episode was well done, interesting and dynamic. In the same time not much happened. One villain was replaced by a more powerful one. One enemy changed sides and became pseudo friend, that is for he is not to be trusted as he is easy to change sides driven by profit or guild issues.

As usual before the grande finale the stakes are risen. Now we have to wait until next Friday and see what will happen. Having only 40min I don't expect too much, for a few reasons"

    1. Season 1 is to probe the audience and to count the possibilities for profits. If there are enough subscribers ( there are enough subscribers, this is confirmed already ) the show will continue. Due to this reason I don't expect major things to happen in the last episode.

    2. To keep the subscribers they have to offer some good action and some problem that will be solved in the next season.

    3. As mentioned already the episode will be ~40min, so not much time to fight the villain who has real power and resources to put in the fight. Mando is now left only with Cara. She has a bad*** blaster but is this enough against a squad of Death troopers?

Too bad for Kuiil, I really liked his character. He was a good part of the team and very useful with his skills. I hope IG-11 will bring revenge for his death.

I won’t be surprised if in Chapter 8 other Mandalorians show up to assist again
