The Mandalorian S2E1 (or ch. 9 if you prefer)

Two of my FAVORITE scenes in this episode.....

1. At 8:43-9:15.......as @The Hero With No Fear points out, the scene of the Razor Crest approaching Tatooine, with Lars' superb Mando Theme , as the Razor Crest approaches Mos Eisley. Just superb!!!

2. MAJOR GOOSEBUMP moment.....at 43:45, Vanth says "This thing is picking us off like womp rats.....let's GET AFTER IT". His helmet goes on, side by side with Mando, they ignite their jetpacks with the Mando theme going. Oh man. That is a MONEY SHOT!!!

 

This episode was just missing one thing to truly get the fear factor across :

Did anyone else notice the retooled theme from AOTC's Tatooine scene where he is riding the speeder bikes while they're riding together? It was that with a small hint of Darth Maul's theme introduction during the Naboo fight in TPM.

 

The small animals seen outside the village are scurriers. And they are quite ok for a barbecue if you find one big enough anyway.

Someone mentioned before the womp rats, no these are different, please don't mix up the species.

Thank you, womp rat was mentioned so much in this episode that I thought they were, but now I know the non-sentient species called Scurriers

Not sure if this has been brought up, but when Cobb took off the helmet for the first time. Do you think Mando was surprised? Like WTF is going on.

Have we got a name for the first first planet in the episode? The graffiti was fantastic. Jon Favreau mentioned that the artist David Choe (who can also be seen in the crowd at the fight) was responsible for the artwork which is super cool.

 

A few observations on "Chapter 9: The Marshall":
* Does it feel weird to anybody else to hear the word " Mos" pronounced like it rhymes with the word "gross" rather than being prounounced like it rhymes with the word "loss"?

* Cobb Vanth is a fun character, and I hope we see him again

* I wonder why Din didn't take Peli up on her offer to watch the Child?

* This episode has made me really curious as to how Jango and Boba ended up in possession of their armor since, like Cobb, they weren't Mandalorians by either birth or Creed

* This episode has also made me really curious as to how Cobb ended up with parts from Anakin's podracer

* The people out there who don't like the changes Lucas made to the Classic Trilogy are probably having fits right now since this episode reinforced the binding canonicity of said changes thanks to Cobb's backstory

* Was anybody else disappointed that they made the Krayt look like a literal dragon?

* Temuera Morrison appearing doesn't automatically equal Boba Fett despite what a lot of the Internet seems to be saying, but I'm intrigued by his appearance in the episode nonetheless and can't wait to see what, if anything, happens next with his involvement in the series

 

Thanks, DUDE, I'm now following David Choe on IG now. I'm an aspiring artist nonetheless... I wonder if he'll do Sabine's art if she shows up this season?

 

The same way as the Krayt Dragon took the Sarlacc Pit to live inside There is only one way to get a Mandalorian armor - by killing it's owner. The original Fett was a skilled warrior, so much in fact that they used him as a genetic template for the great army of the republic. Star Wars universe is a barbarian place in many ways, if you kill the guy you can have his possessions, armor, ship, guns, credits ... whatever.

BTW I like too the graffiti in the beginning. And the animals with red glowing eyes - will make great pets. I want to know what is the planet and why is the low level look. Or maybe this is just a bad district.
