The assault on the base was classic Star Wars great episode! :D
Now that we have 2 Marshals, Greef, Bo-Katan, and soon to join the band Ahsoka, is Jon Favreau assembling his Seven Samurai or Magnificent Seven for the ultimate showdown against Moff Gideon?
We're seeing more of Mando's face is this foreshadowing? Will he eventually let go?

I tried to get some further detail out of the tanks in the lab. Didn't show too much more but worth a look I guess.

at the end it looked more like dark troopers from legends, but the genetic stuff seems more life shadowtroopers from legends

It was really interesting to see Din and The Child sort of take a back seat in this episode. I really liked Cara and Greef here. Also, the Mythrol has grown on me. Can he become part of the crew too?

Loved the episode, great star wars action.
Also really like the way the show doesnt do the obvious plot was really expecting the child to be taken and for the next episode to be about Mando hunting for him,but instead madno made the save at the end of a great chase.

Is it me or does the budget seem a lot more for s2 then s1? Everything just has so much more detail.

I think you could be on to something.

I don't think Gideon has the Remnant's goals in mind, nor is he maybe even aware of the First Order or Exegol.

It feels to me more like he's trying to take his piece of the pie and become a local warlord rather than establishing a new Empire, and becoming Force Sensitive is definitely the avenue of selfishness that would make sense for him.

Now, whether or not those Snoke-esque clones were either stolen from Palpatine's plans or the First Order actually incorporated Gideon's research... or if it's just parallel thought... I don't have much of an opinion on that yet.

Regarding Ahsoka... so I thought maybe like the last shot or something we see I dunno a silhouette of Ashoka and cut to black with the Mando theme, but they didn't. It still begs to question where do they go from here. His Din going to be done with his quest?

They said something to the effect of, "with most of the pay-ins done last season (i.e. developing The Volume), we can funnel more of the budget into special effects and production this time around".

Mando said in the beginning of this episode that they would be taking a de-tour to Nevarro to repair the Razor Crest. Paraphrasing = "We won't make it to Corvus in this state. We'll have to stop by Nevarro for repairs" (or something like that.

Presumably, Mando & Babyoda will continue their quest to Corvus (and Ahsoka) next episode.

Something tells me that getting to Ahsoka is going to be a little more difficult than simply landing on a planet and finding her in a spaceport.

I could be wrong, but I think the "Ahsoka Arc" will be at least two episodes, if not more. And even then, I wouldn't be surprised if there's an episode or two before Din even gets to Corvus (one half-baked theory that I had was that somehow Din would somehow encounter the Corvus on his way to Corvus, especially since Gavankar as Iden Versio was one of the early rumors for the cast earlier this year.

After that- well, I don't really see Ahsoka taking on Baby Yoda on her own. Maybe she'll encourage Din to take Baby Yoda into his own tribe as a Mandalorian, or (as I speculated in another thread) maybe Din's potential disillusionment with The Watch will make him distrust the Jedi even more.

Regardless, I'm sure that Din's "quest" will continue until at leas the end of this season, and after that? I'm sure the show will have some new and fresh direction by then to head to.

Yes, so... no, Din is not done with his quest :)

Edit: Ah, you mean AFTER Mando meets Ahsoka...

Solid episode. This episode feels like the end of how the show has been to this point. I expect a shakeup coming because we're at the point were the adventure of the week is gonna start wearing out. This isn't a complaint, just a natural part of storytelling. Now that the Razor Crest is being tracked I expect some kind of showdown in the next episode that will likely require a rescue of some kind.

I guess he’s going to The Planet Ahsoka is on ( Corvus or something )
& now thanks to that extremely dodgy mechanic ( boy that was not subtle at all )
so is Gideon (anyone have more details on the ship he is using )

Could the people in the tanks be what happened to the unfortunate volunteers that had The Child’s blood transfusion & may be not clones.

In theory, anything is possible right now. I'm confident it's Palpatine/Snoke related, as they played what sounded just like the RotS Opera Music/Snoke's Theme in the background. Seems pretty on the nose.

Shameless plug, I know, but if anyone wants to hear two guys geek out to this show, listen to our Recap episode(s):

The Good - The production quality is yet again stellar and better than a lot of big budget features. Macarons are now canon which means there are french pastry chefs roaming the GFFA and that's fun to think of Palpatine at some point getting pissed because a rebel attack didn't allow his souffle to rise. A child lite episode. Always good when an episode can function without the maguffin right in the middle. Carl Weathers did an overall good job directing what felt like a very uneven script to me.

The Bad - The uneven script. Really kind of felt like this episode was trying to split the difference between a filler episode and main story episode. And it gave me a bit of tone-whiplash. Maybe this wasn't the episode to have Weathers direct when you have access to virtually every director on earth. They made Baby Yoda into Baby Groot from GOTG Vol 2 this week. Same gags and everything. Uninspiring.

The Ugly - Pretty sure the weasel Dune is keeping around has mange and that's just unsanitary to keep around in that condition.

The Unknown - Snoke in a Jar part Deux? Eh. I'm already gassed on clones in the GFFA so if this is more cloning, my eyes just may roll back in my head and stay there. But as some here have suggested, maybe it's something else. So despite my personal disdain for more cloning, it goes into the unknown for now and won't weigh heavily on how I see this episode for now.

Overall, the show is still good and is just perfectly fine to me still. Incredible highs but generally sits on some pretty boring lulls. Really hope it finds itself soon because it still feels like it's trying to decide what it is.
