For this type of episode, it was really solid from beginning to end. The action, characters and humor was great and loved that personal conversation between Cara Dune and the New Republic officer. The ending with Moff felt big!

The child had the time of his life after school!

    Thoughts on my rewatch:

OK, so Mando. Newflash. This is a toddler. They can't handle more than one command at once. Also. Toddlers don't always know their colors very well. And. Does this kid even perceive colors the same way you do? And next--why are you putting your child in danger of electrocution, sir? smh. (Still, Din is way more patient than my dad ever was when I, um, "helped" him. :p) I thought Din was joking around (in a very disgruntled way) in chapter 10 when he asked the kid to help him fix the ship... Joke's on me.

Baby Yoda is really curious about what's under Dad's mask. Surely the Creed lets you show your face to your family?? Guess not. The synchonized bowl-slurping was downright adorable. <3

Come on, Din. We know you wanted to go back to see your buds on Nevarro anyway, but okay, sure, it's for the ship. Right. (Kudos to my "Razor Crest is a metaphor for Din's state of mind/well-being" pet theory holding up and not stabbing me in the back--yet--like my pet theories usually do.)

What is that weasel thing? Is it from legends or something? That bit with the cleaver was...intense...for children. Cara, you know what they say--if you feed it, it's yours forever...

Wow, I'm sure that mechanic is 100% aboveboard and honest.

Grandpa Greef! Well, he's no Kuiil, but it could work.

What's up with Mando? He goes from being Mr. Chatty the last couple of episodes to just being tongue-tied or something. It's awkward? Somehow? (I feel like Bryce Dallas Howard would have gotten a lot more out of that reunion.)

Nevarro looks like my local Renaissance Faire, ngl.

    IG-11 statue. <3

Marshal Dune...it's an interesting comparison with the last marshal, isn't it?

Cara gives her word that the kid will be okay at the school, and he is...another interesting comparison with Bo-Katan's word in the last chapter.

Oh Din...I love the Highly Suspicious Look he lingers to give those shady schoolchildren before he leaves the baby alone with them. :D

Subtitles are our friends--so much to mine from the teacher's lesson: trade routes, new capital is Chandrila (where Leia and her family live now), the Maelstrom from Solo...

Small boy with headband, if only you had shared one of your blue space macarons with Baby Yoda, you would still have some cookies to eat, but nooooo...

OK, so I guess this Very Hungry Toddler bit is to show us how Moff Gideon is going to snatch the Child in the future--just offering him a cookie? egg? spider fetus? live frog? bone broth? small octopus?

OK, the Mythrol is not as annoying as he was in chapter one, mostly because we needed some comic relief in the Imperial base sequences. But wow, were they mean to him.

Come on, Mando. Please. You don't fool us for one second anymore. Of course you're going to help. (Again, he's so strangely quiet. What's up?)

Another interesting comparison (or contrast) is Mando leading this group into the base, whereas with the Nite Owls he was definitely a follower.

Mando doing the dad thing, keeping the Mythrol from getting too close to the edge of the platform. Maybe a little PTSD from the mamacore incident. And then he shepherds everyone into the hall and makes sure they're out before he follows.

Those vats are so creepy. And there's definitely Snoke or Palps creepy choral music thing going on.

"M-count." I See What You Did There.

"Donor," you say, Dr. Pershing? I do not recall that baby giving you consent for any of your "harvesting." "Access to the Donor"? You are making me so mad. There is smoke coming out of Din's ears. Well, I can see it.

"I need to get the kid," Din says. And the epic shot of him running off the cliff and jetpacking away was not an epic "hero saves the day" moment but just Dad Instincts. I love it!

The segment with Greef, Cara, and the Mythrol--without Din or the baby appearing at all--lasts six full minutes. Wow. Is this setting up that they'll have separate storylines in future episodes before the gang's all together again? Especially with that longish conversation between Cara and the NR X-wing pilot?

Love that bike sound. <3 OK, and the TIE sound.

Yay, Din arrives! Yay, Baby Yoda gets a roller coaster ride! The full stop and flip Din does with the Crest is so cool. Spinning, as we know, is a good trick. Baby Yoda approves. The sound effects are very WW dogfights, even the view from the ground from Greef's POV.

I can't believe Din uses his cape to wipe up Baby Yoda's sick. Ewwww. For pete's sake, Mando, get some space wet wipes already. (Good thing fanfic writers have Baby's bath and laundry routines covered.) "Onboard maintenance"...riiiight.

Greef giving the NR guy attitude. These Outer Rim folk sure are ornery.

The long Carson and Cara conversation: Why does Cara call him "Blue"? If he's checked her record but doesn't seem alarmed, is it wiped clean? Is he just ignoring the bad stuff because she's keeping things clean on Nevarro? Did Greef clean up her chain code of the crimes that could land her in jail? If that thing is a holo communiator, it's really flat? Is that what it is?

Is Carson trying to guilt her into joining up with that dumb question about whether she lost anybody on Alderaan? Low blow.

Moff Gideon is an excellent bad guy. That is all.

First time out the gate, no less.

If you are going kick the door in, might as well blow it off the hinges while you're at it.

Especially enjoyed the escape from mount doom chase scene with the right mix of old school grit and new school flash. My wife looked over at me and said, "she's such a badass." - I showed her clips this week of Gina choking out the sports science guy and fight hightlights, so she might've been a little hyped. That ship looked and sounded great as well. #ScoutTroopers
Long live the Empire. I'm guessing Moff G is a loyalist who knows Palpatine is alive and how it was done. The asset is the key to fully restoring Emperor and thus the Empire. Or not.

Blue milk chocolate covered oreo cookies will now be going on sale. Aunt Beru would have been so proud.

Also, I want a fire breathing squirrel.

Din is officially the baby daddy after cleaning up the child's macaroon vomit! No more calling him his friend or kid. From now on Din should refer to him as "my..son"

Ok, guys...I have to be that cynical person who asks if Greef knew that the mechanic who put the tracker on the Crest was shady. Is Greef possibly not as up-and-up as he seems?

The essence of the show is to give surprises.
Now we all know the next episode is called The Jedi.
What if Ashoka is not the Jedi the title refers to?
Ezra has a lot of numbers, of course. But another one?
Personally I would love to see some links and connections between Rebels, OT and ST through Ezra, his falling, transformation or death.

That's possible, Greef was well connected even before taking over the guild job, now he is supposed be a really resourceful guy, local king of some sort. She calls him Blue maybe because she knows him already, that might be his pseudonym. He said in episode 2 that these are trying times, perhaps they tend to forget some things in the sense that they can build some relationship with the locals. You know Outer Rim was never peaceful. I think this might be a holo communicator, kind of cell phone giving in case she wants to call and join. It has enough thickness for that. Or it can be a medal of some sort which they give to soldiers, she might have left her medal back it could be taken from her when she committed the crimes she mentioned. This might be a gesture of "we forgive you and it is alright now if you want to join us again" thing.

Add blue/green/neon paint to everything and will goes on sale! Great business strategy - blue milk, blue macaroons, blue shrimp, blueish moonshine ... what is next? blue beer and blue wine?

Nooo, I think he is not, he did a play already with Gideon guys and it didn't work for him. I don't think he will try again, it makes no sense. Also I think Gideon will kill him if they meet again.

Okay, things are really spicing up now - like the mines of KESSEL. Again, I thought this would be a run of the mill 'help us out and we'll help you' but with some old faces. I was wrong, I'm so glad I was wrong. Do I see a compelling overrarching story before me?? The Imps rying to access the Child's Midichlorians to siphon into Palpatine?? Will we have an explanation into how he was ressurected??

A lot to celebrate with that episode. The chemistry of the gang with the blue fish guy (sorry for the derogatory terminology), the Empire and their evil scheming ways, the sweep of the leg of that speeder biker, as well as an exploration of what it means to be a member of the Alliance/New Republic.

So, regarding the fancy new armors in Gideon's ship... I haven't fact checked this myself but there is apparently an official confirmation burried in the episode. I'll put it in spoilers since this is probably ment to be a secret for an episode or two more.

Apparently, if you put the episode on descriptive subtitles (or whatever they are called), the lady explaining the scene names them "Dark Troopers"

Again, I haven't double checked this. My apologies if this has already been discussed.

This is true (it’s the English descriptive audio setting for those with visual impairment)!
EDIT to say--there's no text for it so I'm not sure if there would be capital letters to mean it's a Thing or official name, or if it would be lowercase to mean the words are just descriptive.

Also the description of the disc the pilot gives Cara is a “badge.”

Greef Karga is not the same person as last year. Weathers put himself in every scene and remade himself into a pretty simple baby-holding hero. Favreau wrote it, so he shares in the blame. And the supposedly menacing final piece of foreshadowing, "We will be ready," or whatever Moff Gideon says, just flat as hell. Cue overblown score. Been a good season, but it's pretty hard to ignore Weathers' preening and the general clumsiness of the episode.
