Has Ezra been rumored? I wonder who would play him and how old is he now anyway?

I'm kind of thinking Thrawn is a name-drop for a spinoff series with Ahsoka/Ezra/Satine? The way Giancarlo Esposito has been chatting up his role, I'm thinking he's going to remain the Big Bad of The Mandalorian.

Don't know how this call works, if it is like bulletin post then I assume some Sith may decide to show on the party? Then it will become interesting.
I wander why Ahsoka is after Thrawn? I don't remember that they had anything personal. Or maybe she is searching for Ezra, they went together with Thrawn the last time ...

Who knows if this is leading to an Avengers like episode 8 mash up, but is Boba going to show up?

There needs to a Clone Wars short on Disney + of Gorgu being trained by Jedi Masters at the Coruscant temple! He must have interacted with Yoda

I watched it! So, my thoughts may be a little controversial overall, but hear me out!

First off, this episode was good. Like, good good. I almost loved it! Filoni is really honing his skill with every episode, and I can't wait to see what major Star Wars film he directs (because at this rate, it's coming).

Ahsoka's appearance lived up to the hype, and the (fan) casting of Rosario Dawson was spot on. She managed to sound enough like Ashley that I can see them using either for their respective role and not have a problem with it. (Rosario's acting and chemistry was so good, I almost ship her and Mando now.)

The in-world lore drops were great too. Ahsoka doesn't deny that she's a Jedi (maybe she's back to being one, or maybe she finds that denying it to outsiders isn't worth the trouble), she's looking for a certain someone (a great set up for a sequel show), and there are more Jedi out there. Who knows who else we may see this season! (Luke, I'm betting on Luke. Maybe even a guest appearance by Yoda.)

The Lothcat cameo was so Filoni, and don't think I didn't see that owl!

Now, onto the not-as-good. Filoni still isn't the best director on the show. This isn't a shot at him, but the episode does have some...uninspired directing at some points. This isn't clearly all of the episode - the final fight scene was a beautiful juxtaposition between samurai duels and western duels. It reminded me of the duel in Twin Suns, and I love when Star Wars goes that direction - the physicality of fights is always something I'm happy to see, despite my love for the over-the-top stuff of Fallen Order & TCW. Both are integral to Star Wars, and seeing them here at the same time felt fresh and new.

The dialogue wasn't as snappy as it could have been either, but that's a constant problem with the Mandalorian.

Getting Baby Yoda's name was cool, but he will forever be Baby Yoda to me and the fandom at large.

Overall, I really enjoyed this episode! I'm hesitant if I'd put it in my top 5, but it did everything I wanted it to do, and for that it receives all the credit. I'm sure this will climb to one of my favorites, but considering how great this season has been, even this episode has some stiff competition! (I'll watch it again soon enough.)

EDIT: I almost forgot the most controversial part! I've heard some snarky comments here and elsewhere about how people accept that Baby Yoda can do things without training and be accepted while Rey gets criticized and critiques. That complaint is 100% correct and an absolutely fair complaint. It is something we as a fandom and as individuals need to work on.
However, this episode established that this was not the case. Baby Yoda was trained, so his techniques stem from that. His trauma gets in the way of that. Rey wasn't, so her use of certain techniques still feels off, at least to some.
Again, there is some gender bias that is going on that should NOT be overlooked, but at least we now know that it's not a straight 1-to-1 comparison.
How do I feel about all of this? Honestly...I didn't really like that backstory. Not only does it feel like it justifies the comparison above, it also doesn't fit with the childish nature of Baby Yoda - he still feels too young for a backstory like that. But overall, it's not a series killer or anything like that. Just a choice that I don't necessarily agree with but I accept.

    And WHAT HAPPENED TO YADDLE!?!

Knowing Star Wars is influenced by Samurai and after playing Ghost of Tsushima, I loved the ending!

Now THAT was quite a reintroduction! I was honestly expecting Ahsoka to be dropped in somewhere during the episode. Instead, she comes out blades 'a swingin'!
    - Knew it was on when we saw the Morai in the tree. Always a nice touch.
    - Yes, her lekku (sp?) seemed short to me too, but that's just semantics. Got over it quickly.
    - I thought Dawson captured the spirit of Ahsoka well. I'd think it's harder going from animation to live action than vice-versa. They took great care in attempting to remain true to what we recognized. Oh, and big props to the costume design. It was on point.
    - Loth-Cat spotting! I have to assume it somehow hitched a ride with her at some point? Or are they like Jawas, just showing up all across the GFFA?
    - Was not expecting the Thrawn bomb near the end. I'm interested in where exactly she is in her search for Ezra. At the end of Rebels we're not sure how far into the future (during the epilogue) her and Sabine hook up to begin the search. Or maybe that's been answered and I'm not aware.
    - I thought she was going to drop Luke's name when telling Mando where to go next. And I had mixed feelings about it. Seems they're not ready to there just yet!
    - Overall, another highly-entertaining and engaging episode. I was nervous about the reintroduction of Ahsoka but F&F never seem to let me down. Kuddos!

She said "He was trained by many Jedi Masters". Poor baby was tortured by many ... you can imagine what emotional damage this caused.
Yes I think he has interacted one way or the other also with Yoda. If there is no one like you and suddenly there is a baby of your kind, you would go to see it and maybe to take care of it. And Yoda was in everything that happened in that temple.

Some time ago I read the wild idea that maybe baby Yoda is the child of Yoda and Yaddle, the only two known of this kind, and both of them Jedi. Now after we know that baby yoda was grown on Coruscant, the idea doesn't seem to be so wild. But that means Yoda has gone way beyond his jedi ideals ...

It's probably already in my top 5 episodes of the series but I won't make a new ranking yet until the season ends as I have a feeling the season finale will be even way more amazing!

Going into this episode, I checked my expectations a little bit. I knew from people’s reactions that this would be an action-heavy installment and I typically don’t find those to be the most interesting for me. But, Oh My Whills!

The Jedi was absolutely superb! Our boy Filoni did good… Ahsoka was perfect. The atmosphere was perfect. The sets were perfect, and the installment was a perfect vehicle for The Volume.

This episode was up there with the very best of Star Wars, standing shoulder-to-shoulder drama-, visuals-, power-, and gravitas-wise with masterpieces like TESB & TLJ! I’m in heaven :D

Bonus mention goes to the HK droids (who were WAY to easily dispatched, heh heh) and Michael Biehn (whom we’ll sadly never see again now :( I was hoping he had a recurring role).

Also, did not see coming that Babyoda (aka Grogu but he’ll forever be Babyoda to me ;) ) trained at Jedi Temple. I just asumed he was a lost child with a periferal upbringing, not an actual temple youngling!

I didn’t see the Thrawn reference coming, but when one thinks about it, it was really quite obvious that’s what Ahsoka was up to. So, is Gideon a pawn of Thrawn? Will Thrawn be the big baddy in season 4+? (Or perhaps he’ll be the focus of another show/movie altogether).

Marvelous, absolutely marvelous episode, this! 10/10

PS: I hope we get to experience a de-aged Hamill/young-Luke in a cameo in Season 3
    PPS: I needed this today.

Not the best Star Wars name ever.

For those of you interested, the guards were armed with the A350 blaster rifle ( new rifle, not yet in the wiki ), and the droids were HK-87.
The magistrate name is Morgan Elsbeth. The ex-military who worked for Morgan, his name is Lang.
I try to find the species of the guards. If you noticed they have full face masks with some pipe coming out, seems that they need berating assistance. Their look somehow makes me remember the species which Snoke was having on Supremacy. Is it possible that those are species from Unknown region, a gift from her master Thrawn?
