    I am back.

While I was never Boba Fett fan, I loved Temuera Morrison in this episode. There was gravitas in his interpretation, you can see he lived through a lot in the desert and he was a true badass, something we have never seen on screen (only some comics and never finished Clone Wars episodes).

I like that Mando was somewhat in the background in this episode, no matter how great you are, things WILL go wrong at some point. I just wish he would acknowledge HIS attachment to baby Grogu. When he found and saved a little ball, it broke my heart.

I enjoyed a good, ol' western shoot-out in the prairie. Thank the Force they gave Ming-Na Wen's character a continuation, because I thought she was useless in her first episode. Such a good looking woman and great in action. I can't believe she is almost 60.

All in all, I liked the episode a lot. Although it was only 30+ minutes, it gave me impression of a feature film. The last two episodes are going to be fire.

Wild episode! As an action guy, I appreciate the pew pew stuff.

Old Man Boba Fett is badass!
    R.I.P. Razor Crest
The ending kicked me in the gut!

    Maybe.

I have a hard time believing that Fett was actively looking for it for 4-5 years and just so happened to somehow track it down by seeing Mando the second he sped off in a speeder bike with it.

But again, not really that big of a deal for me.

THIS was the episode I've been waiting all season for, ever since the fantastic opener. Something that stands so well on its own, yet still capitalizes off effective use of cameos.

And man, if it didn't just make a grown man shed a couple tears.

"I was aiming for the other one" :p

Jango wasn't a full on Mandalorian but was a foundling and thus raised like one until he did his own thing. His armor was given to him by mandalorian. I like it! Complicated but he can be could be somewhat still considered a mandalorian until his death

The Bo-Katan and Ashsoka episodes weren't their own thing(especially bo-katan's)and effective use?

OK, so I'm feeling kind of guilty for not being nearly as upset about Grogu getting captured as I am about the Crest getting blown up. I guess I saw it coming that Grogu would get kidnapped, but I was blindsided by the Crest getting blown up.

*shakes fist* Curse you, Jon Favreau, for your effective plot twists! :p

To me though, the clones themselves validated Jango's DNA, not Boba.

Oh I'm fine with action movies, but I do like a level of dynamic action in them, and this...wasn't it. Compare the scene Fennic running across the ledge with the scene during "The Siege" with the speederbikes going down the mountain. That felt dynamic and fast-paced. Or for action, just look at the first episode with the Assassin droid and how it utilized its body to attack from multiple angles, making it seem both unnatural and intimidating. Or even the fight in the previous episode between Ahsoka and the Magistrate. It wasn't perfect, but there was a level of artistry there. I didn't see that here.

I don't have problems with the acting (but I do see your point) nor do I think this episode was filler. I just think it was stale compared to everything else. I guess one could say that this was a fanservice episode, which is fine. Fanservice doesn't always work for everyone, however, and it didn't work for me.

Again, I didn't grow up with the OT in theaters. I watched them after they all came out, so I don't have that context. Boba Fett was never the "most feared" bounty hunter in the galaxy for me, because the galaxy consisted of three movies and Boba Fett, while doing good in capturing Han, was killed off right after.

Ha, true. Sometimes for better (Maul), other times...not so much (Palpatine). I think Boba was a good choice to bring back, but he just doesn't do anything for me.

This weeks episode of The Mandalorian was quite short, but very eventful.

All in all a great episode! Maybe even bigger for the ongoing story than the last one which was basically giving us exposition/information through Ahsoka that we would not have gotten otherwise. This episode progressed the story of Din Djarin and Grogu way more.

But lets talk about the big thing from this episode: Jango Fett is - or rather was - a Mandalorian.

I'm not really sure what to think of that as it contradicts what George Lucas had in mind creating that character. So even in the Pre-Disney Era the Fetts being Mandalorians technically wasn't canon (or at least not G-canon which beat all other levels of canonicity).

However while I'm not sure if I like it or not yet they pulled it off the best way possibly which is without contradicting any canon material. Him being a foundling means that Almec technically didn't lie as he simply could have not know about Jango being Mandalorian, because he was at the forefront of the new Mandalorians instead of the ones following the old way. So that's a pretty cool way of making him Mandalorian as many fans wanted him to be and still being consistent.

With that being said back to the actual episode:
    • I'm really looking forward to seeing Din Djarin fight with the staff from pure Beskar. That's an awesome weapon and as a Game of Thrones fan I'm looking forward to seeing Pedro Pascal fighting with that type of weapon once more.
    • I think Boba Fett saying he was aiming for the other one was dumb. While they might have done that as to not overpower him completely I think it made him look dumb. Of course if you have only one shot you would aim for the shuttle that is higher above as what happened might have happen and if not you got at least one. With aiming for the lower shuttle you get lucky like Boba did or you stop only half of the enemy. The better way here would have been to have him say something about it being luck, that the higher shuttle crashed into the lower, but he aimed for the higher one. Anyway, that's complaining aout minor details in the end...
    • Another time someone in this episode looked like a complete fool was when the stormtrooper with the huge gun didn't move, when the stone was rolling towards him. I mean, stormtroopers being stupid is nothing new to Star Wars but in this instance one would think the survival instinct everyone has should kick in and he should have moved.
    • Fennec aiming at Grogu was interesting. I wonder if that would have had any effect though. We saw how strong that force thing (for a lack of a better description) aroung Grogu was. Could bullets penetrate that?
    • It definitely looked like someone answered Grogus call. So who did? We basically have only 6 canon Jedi left at the time of the Mandalorian or rather 3 confirmed ones and 3 possible ones. Luke & Leia, Ezra Bridger (maybe?), Ahsoka (who technically isn't a Jedi anymore, or is she?) and Cal Kestis & Cere Junda (maybe?). The easiest way (other then Ahsoka) would probably be to use Cameron Monaghan as Cal Kestis. He is a known actor, the video game character was modeled after him. It fits! I'd prefer him over any CGI Leia or Luke they might come up with. But we'll see...
So yeah, that were some of my thought on this episode. I enjoyed it a lot!

I hope Din gets a Razor Crest 2.0 in the finale but I'm thinking Boba will simply give Din the Slave 1

I have loved every chapter so far and the quality of the first five I think has been growing progressively.

But after this chapter and the rumors of the Jedi involved i'm afraid the level will drop and all will be rushed.

Mace Windu for me is one of the worst characters of the saga and Samuel gives one of the worst interpretations of the PT. So being dead in ROS for me it will ruin the show. I don't want another ressurected character!! I don't want an old Jedi resurrected! Specially in this post ROTJ period! No! No Windu please. Luke, or Ezra. Otherwise some of the magic will disappear

Hope they keep the level high.

I had some problems with them.

I understand people liked them, and that's great- I don't mean to put that down.

Just saying, in my opinion, this is easily the best episode of the season, alongside the premier.

Casuals after being confused about Bo-Katan, Ahsoka and Thrawn

I get that Bobba Fett is a huge guest star for a lot of fans though because of the films and I'm sure some casuals have at least played some videogames. Battlefront II is still going strong and Bobba is playable

Lots of people have already wondered why Boba didn't just get the armor from Cobb Vanth. It didn't even need to be confrontational or anything. Boba must have tons of money from all his bounties. Unless the Hutt Cartel or New Republic froze his bank accounts, he should have been able to provide enough to say "Cobb, this is my armor, here's some cash for your trouble, give it back to me."

    Season Finale --

Boba Fett: Skywalker, I'm going to beat you so badly you won't be able to train any Jedi for the next 30 years!

    Luke: AARRGGGHHH!

Mandalorian: Boba Fett! Boba Fett! NNNOOOOO!

(Grogu pauses to watch the scene and then goes back to eating a frog)

While I understand some of the criticism of this episode, it was one of my favorites. Seeing Slave 1 appear, hearing its sound, and hearing the didgeridoo Boba musical cue was all just such a treat. Temuera Morrison has serious gravitas, and is one of the most recognizable faces in Star Wars. Sure, the scenery looked like Southern California, and The Volume wasn't used much. I can see how that made it seem fan film-esque. I disagree regarding poor direction. Apart from the jetpack remote control being a thing, it all made sense. I'm a Robert Rodriguez fan way back from El Mariachi, so I like his style. I am insanely curious about who will show up, having heard Grogu's call. While I agree with many that Luke is a serious possibility (Sebastian Stan would be a massive gift and imply more Luke in the future!), I also love the idea of Ezra and perhaps most of all think it would be amazing if Yaddle showed up. I also think that would go so well with Jon Favreau's MO, as would Jar Jar showing up in future episodes.

Don't know about your issues but I'd likely disagree to a degree. However, I agree this is probably the best episode since the first episode of the season.

Not just because of the action and Boba in action but it's refreshing for there not being a side quest where Din helps someone on a mission, the mission given by Ahsoka to help Grogu is delt with right away and it sets up the finale..which is probably another two parter.

Din losing Grogu and the Razor Crest is also huge! The moments between Din and Grogu in the beginning was also wonderful and the first time we heard Din laugh?

Yes, it's the first time Din has outright laughed, although he's kind of snorted or huffed a few times when something was funny.
