Someone posted the list of the prisoners with transcribed names on Reddit:

Does Sunspot Prison count as an easter egg? :)

Wobani is interesting. That's where the Rebel Alliance broke Jyn Erso out of prison, right?

Half those mug shots look like people Mando's already beat up. ;)

Good catch! I remembered Wobani from the Leia novel, but didn't actually make the connection that it's the same planet where Jyn Erso was imprisoned!

I find it interesting that the call backs have all been Clone Wars and Rebels characters: Boba, Bo Katan, Ahsoka and Thrawn. Ezra, while I guess technically not a "Jedi" would still be able to "hear the call". If Thrawn is still alive, no reason Ezra can't be.

Just watched the episode. Not the best, but it will do I guess. The Loss of the RC was too much for me.

And @cawatrooper , Scarif is definitely #1, with Hoth close behind. Then a gap to Mimban and Tython.

The mortars were a good touch, have never seen them used before I think.

The earthly and smaller budget feel didn't bother me but it did disappointment because while Tyhon does have an earthly feel, it's magical with giant statues and stuff. I was hoping to see inside the temple and outside there wasn't even any waterfall.

I know it's been hundreds or thousands of years but still

It's a New Republic prison system now though, right? (That's why Cara could get into the system to look at them?) Whereas it was an Imperial prison when Jyn was there. Guess they just did the old switcheroo with the guards and kept the prisoners the same...

A force user saying they won't train someone and changing their mind is a pretty common Star Wars story arc. This story is about Grogu and Din so I'm not sure how the Jedi training fits into the series. This series has foreshadowed Boba Fett and Ahsoka. I suspect Ahsoka comes to the rescue.

Yeah, I'm not saying Luke WILL show up. It just makes sense unless we are gonna continue to undermine Yoda's claim that Luke is the last of the Jedi order.

I'm actually with Storm. I think there is no chance they bring Luke in. But, they shocked the hell out of me last season with Grogu so...

My only thing with Ezra is that I would expect him to be in the Ahsoka show. But depending on the time line I guess it doesn't bar him from being in here. Who the heck knows what they have up their sleeve? I just know I was happy to finally see Boba Fett kick butt.

Grogu does have some dark side in him but he doesn't seem interested in the force. He wants to be a mandalorian like his daddy!

One of these episodes he's going to mimick or actually try to pick up a blaster!

I think canon interpretation is that Luke was the last to be trained under the "old ways".

As someone who doesn't watch Star Wars fan films... why are people using "fan films" as criticism to describe the episode? What does that even mean?

So what are everyone’s thoughts on the rest of season 2?

Will Grogu remain captured? (If so this becomes more unrealistic as they want to “harvest” his blood, right? How long does that take?)

Is Din getting “a team” together?

Just one thing I ask....no....I BEG of you Filoni/Favreau......

Please no “sneaking aboard Gideon’s cruiser in Imperial uniforms” please please NOOOOOOO

Is that Aurebesh? Or some sort of clone/Mandalorian language ?

The tragedy for me in this episode was the Crest being turned into a smoking crater.....

    .

I definitely think Sidious was aware of Grogu, at the very least.

What I’ve gotten from comics and novels is that he retreated from the public eye and has spent some time gathering Jedi related relics. I know at one point he finds Jocasta Nu’s secret archive and still looks close to RotJ age, so that could be going on currently? I believe Bloodline mainly mentions that he has been out of the public eye for some time (this is after Han and Leia sent Ben to him).

I had to look it up to be sure, but it definitely does. It was the prison in the comics that Leia tried to take Doctor Aphra to, is really close to a sun.
Rogue Rebel took over and released the prisoners to try and make Leia into a more ruthless leader because he believed it was necessary for the Rebels to win.

There's still room for Luke to show up (not that I'm counting on it), but whatever happens in the Outer Rim isn't exactly public eye.
Especially if little Grogu was able to connect to someone, and that someone happened to be Luke, and Luke happened to be nearby...

Hunting Jedi relics, constantly studying and reaching out in the Force to find more things when suddenly a little green baby fellow leaves a voice message on the Force inbox... it's not entirely impossible, haha.

Definitely agree. Though I’m not fully sure of Luke and Ben’s timeline and when training started. I was under the impression Ben was his first student, but I could’ve misunderstood.

For Mando..Luke probably doesn’t need that big of a role if he was to be the Jedi, if they feel he might overshadow Din and the others. He’s unlikely, as he’d likely either be CG’d to be younger or they’d get someone else to fill the role, but who knows.

overall impressions of the episode for me? I liked Din and Grogu’s stuff, though him leaving his Jetpack felt like a major plot convenience so he couldn’t get to Grogu in time. Fett’s return I was wary on, but...I guess it works? Not much details, but as someone who was ok with the concept of Palpatine returning, as well as Maul...well, I probably shouldn’t risk a double standard, so I’ll accept it and see if we learn more.

Action...idk. I love some good action, but this episode felt like it focused on it a lot and mainly for an epic-ness sake. I didn’t really feel any stakes until Gideon mentioned the Dark Troopers. The combat with the Stormtroopers just felt extended to make the three look cool, which they did for the most part. After a certain point, the shootout lost me, and Boba’s reveal of his armor just felt, idk. I think I preferred Gaffi Stick armorless Boba’s fighting over when he had the armor. The breaking of the helmets..eh, makes sense. Adds to how the ewoks were able to do so well, though the shatter effect felt.....exaggerated maybe? That’s not my expertise.

Curious to see how it ends. Nice that I feel there’s actual stakes now

Well, since this only a few years after ROTJ, Ben mustn't be older than five. Two or three, if I'm correct, but I'm also not up to date on the exact dates on his birth and such.
Regardless, if Luke were to show up, I am quite sure they have a reason for why he doesn't train Grogu.

Yeah, I have a lot of issues with this show from many different standpoints, I just haven't had the time to write them down in coherent thoughts. I do think this episode is one of the better ones, warts and all. It seems to me to flow better, the dialogue wasn't as stilted at times, and definitely not as self important in areas.
There's very much a part of me that's given up trying to care about this show from an artistic perspective, and just enjoy the lore and action.

I'm assuming this is coming from the fact that this was clearly shot on some hillside in California. There's nothing wrong with the film other than people recognize the location and I guess it's taking them out of the episode. Calling it "fan film" is kind of silly. There's nothing wrong with the production.

The Mandalorian continues to get better and better as it focuses on this main narrative, whilst still exploring some cool new settings.

I liked how simple Tython was, it subverted my expectations - that's a Jedi trick (i.e - when Luke first meets Yoda).

Seeing Slave I return, wow, I fanboyed so hard. Temuera as Boba works so well. We're so lucky that the backwards timeline we have in Starwars allows for these happenings of serendipity. Seeing the most iconic armour go back to its rightful owner, wow. Now Mando has Boba and Fennec in his side? Jheeze.

Who will the Jedi be that they throw into the mix? Stakes get higher and higher from here on in!

The Avengers. That's exactly what I was thinking, the Episode felt like the First act of an Avengers Marvel movie...Not to mention that the Dark Troopers flying reminded me so much of Iron Man 2.
