The Mandalorian S2E6 - Chapter 14: The Tragedy

We have seen a Padawan being knighted without actual Jedi Knights being present though(Kanan being knighted in the Jedi temple in his vision by a temple guard with the face of the Grand Inquisitor). Also Ahsoka while never knighted would have been granted the rank of Jedi Knight by The Jedi High Council at the end of season 5 of The Clone Wars. So if Ahsoka has rejoined the order ever since (which technically is possible and Grand Master Yoda himself was hoping for as seen in the last arc of The Clone Wars season 7) she would qualify as a Jedi Knight.

But all that possible "off-screen knighthoods" aside and assuming all remaining Jedi are actually Padawans as they have never been knighted while the Jedi High Council/other Jedi Knights were present then Luke Skywalker himself doesn't qualify as a Jedi Knight either. Yes, he did claim the titles of Grand Master and Jedi Knight and he rebuilt the Jedi order, trained multiple Padawans himself etc., but technically there was never any Jedi Knight that knighted Luke Skywalker.

Is there anything more then rumors about this show? I mean I would be very happy to have that show considering Ahsoka Tano is my favorite Star Wars character, but we haven't heard anything official, have we?

The question is did Grogu realize what happened when he meditated on the Seeing Stone. Because if anything that would be the way to contact another Jedi, wouldn't it. But he only ever was in danger, when he had left the meditation. So if he "had reception" and someone answered his call via the Stone that someone (Ahsoka if you are correct) would have to agree on training him without knowing he is in danger, because he wasn't then...

They didn't have any other chance. But isn't that the exact opposite of what my answer was refering to? They didn't say he is the last of the Jedi, but simple that he is their only hope as in they don't see any other way. Which is spot on as they were actually training Luke, while all the alternatives they knew about were not there (or they simply didn't know they were still alive as Ahsoka was hiding and Ezra encountered Obi-Wan, when Luke was still a kid). So Ezra showing up now wouldn't undermine that at all imho.

 

I do think it'll be Ahsoka. Let's face it, she's Dave's girl. He's gonna get her in this again if possible.

But as for Luke, it seems Yoda declared him a Jedi Knight on screen in VI. Off screen knighting... Yeah, not a fan of that. I mean, they are gonna do what they are gonna do. It just feels like they should be careful about having more and more Jedi survive order 66. Just use Luke or just use Ahsoka. I'm cool with either one. Also, it avoids the need to twist themselves into pretzels trying to get out of the idea that there was only one Jedi at the end of VI. I'd cast the dude who played Bucky and drop Luke in at the end. But that is just me.

Anyway, Friday can't come soon enough. LOL

 

Oh. I am damn sure she is coming back in the next episode or the season final. Pretty much the same with Bo-Katan. I don't think we have seen the last of any of the characters brought in from the animated series. I just don't think she will train Grogu (if any Jedi ever does, as Grogu staying with Din is very much an option to in my opinon).

Is he? It has been a long time since I rewatched the OT but afair that could have only happened on two occasions. The first being when he leaves Yoda and at that point in time he didn't complete his training so there is no way Yoda knighted him there. And the other time is once Luke comes back to Dagobah which is when Yoda dies. And I don't think he knighted him on his deathbed.

All the Jedi I mentioned before are already established in Star Wars Canon as survivors of Order 66 or as Padawans to survivors of Order 66. So neither of those showing up would change a thing about the number of Jedi that survived Order 66.

I also don't think the number of Order 66 survivors really matters that much tbh as it was established that there were ~10.000 Jedi Knights in the galaxy, when Order 66 was executed. The number of survivors compared to that is very low as most Jedi Knight were slain in Order 66 or hunted down and executed after the Order was issued by the Inquisitorius. With the number of Knights being 10.000 there could have been 100 Knight surviving and Order 66 would have still been 99% efficent. We only know of a handful survivors that were Knights (or higher ranking) though, so it's mor elike 99.9% efficency...

 

The thing is, Star Wars fan films can be extremely good. If you haven't seen the one about Darth Maul with 20 million YT views, I highly recommend it. The only thing about this episode that felt fan filmy was the "on location" aspect, and a large part of that just has to do with us being spoilt by The Volume.

 

There was a lot in this episode.

Great to see Boba back in his armor, and once again with official Mandalorian heritage. I feel like both Boba's armor and his ship are in need of a good paint job, though.

I'm sad that the Razor Crest is gone. But that just paves the way for Din and the gang to commandeer Gideon's Arquitens, right?

Grogu's message has been sent, so now we get to see who will answer(if anyone does). It would be neat to see Cal, Ezra or Luke, but I'm actually hoping they'll bring in an entirely new character. My idea would not be a Jedi, but some random Force sensitive out there somewhere. They sense Grogu without even knowing what's happening and come to help, but once they get together, it's Grogu who's teaching them instead. Anyway, that's what I'd do.

 

Was Grogu's thoughts send through the force like how he communicated with Ahsoka? So a jedi or force sensitive person might receive a feeling like a beacon and possibly find Grogu's location on Gideon's ship?

A cliff hanger like that sure would be huge to end the season finale. A ship docks onto Gideon's and doors open to see Cal, Ezra, Luke or a mystery person ignite a light sabre followed by the screen fading to black and "Directed By"

From New Rockstars Erik Voss.....great summary including translation of the Mandalorian language (Mando'a) that confirms Jango Fett's history as a Mandalorian

His translation is "Foundling Took into the year the Concord Dawn mentor Jaster Father Fett"

This confirms Jango's lineage and basically brings a Jango Fett comic from Legends into Canon.

@Embo and His Pet Anooba They have Filoni on video from 2010 saying that the idea of Jango NOT having Mandalorian heritage goes back to Lucas....now....apparently they have done an about-face on that idea!!

 

George Lucas deserves respect as the creator of star wars and has had a lot of great ideas but also a whole lot of duds and seems very un decisive about things

A lot of folks opining if Ahsoka will be the one to answer the call. I have no idea and am not speculating, but what if this was all a test for Grogu? Maybe Ahsoka wanted to see if he would call out to her. Or she'd be listening knowing he was going to make "the call" and simply wanted to see if he could or was up to the task. I don't know... just spitballing here.
