I actually expected the last episode to feel like this one, and this one to feel like the previous one if that makes sense (before I'd seen the last one). I thought episode 6 would be more of a set up and then we'd get a two part ending to the season.

However, after I watched episode 6 last week I knew this one would be the one that sets up the Big Bang finale to the season. I enjoyed this one. Now I'm totally ready for episode 8.

    Woah!

That's what I call action, baby!!

Perfect timing action/dialogs. It felt like an hour full of Empire/pirates/Slave 1 cool action.

So many good things about this chapter.

That was great. Significantly better than the previous two episodes in my opinion.

The sit down between Mayfeld, Din and Hess was very Tarantino as well as harking back at Solo.

That Juggernaut driver helmet looked very First Order by the way.

Hey. Why didn't the imps just transport the rhydonium by air ? Why haul it over treacherous terrain through hostile territory? :p

I love the way they showed that imperial equipment is not to the need and to the standard.
The blaster Din was using (SE-14r, they use a lot of those in the show, those were supposed to be used by officers?!) suddenly stopped shooting. His armor was not really good, two parts - pauldron and revebrace, broke after hit by a stick :) The rest of the armor seems to survived the fight but didn't really protected him - when he sat down in the cabin he was suffering pain, probably injuries from the fight. Those trucks are looking badass but are so easy to blow, just put a grenade on top and bye bye.
The empire never did a proper equipment. Were they so limited in resources? Or they just didn't care about their soldiers?

Definetly far far better and more epic episode than previous one.
It's what Tragedy should have been with the return of Boba and Slave 1.

With episode 2 and 15 seems Rick Famuyiwa is good in chasing scenes.

Loved Valin Hess character. Perfect actor for an imperial officer. Obviously he already knows something about the creation of the FIRST ORDER. Brilliant detail for what it's coming after de Empire.

Mando revealing his face has a lot of significance (attached to the last scene and epic message). The kid had only one chance to survive and revealing his face was that chance. Loved that moment. Very well done. Kudos to Rick.

Loved all imperial troopers of the chapter and I think is the first time I scream of joy whith the appearance of TIE Fighters.

So how did the face-scanning ID approve Din getting into the system? I thought that was what Mayfeld was there for. Am I missing something?

Cara got a new riffle, did you noticed, some sort of heavy blaster sniper. Looks very similar to her heavy-repeater.

I wonder if that goes with her new job as a New Republic Marshall or different it is one of Fennics that she borrows.

I believe so yes even if he not had that one scene at the end of the very first episode.

Maybe it was not for authentication, but for security reasons. Later on they can check who was accessing what data. The code cylinder is supposed to authenticate the user.

I bet this is one of Fennec's.

That's a good shot!, I forgot for a moment that the baby is not there. The episode was full even without him. Interesting :)

Cara and Fennec scoped out the action here but I hope they get to brawl together against some troopers next episode. Tag team action!

If my expectation confirms - they can't scope in the next episode, it will be much more CQB. Which is good I think.

I haven't cared much about episode lengths but would be nice if the finale is at least as long as the first episode of the season. Especially since this season doesn't have a two parter finale

I don't have mixed feelings basically because of your last line in your comment. The fact that Din is willing to go that far because of how much Grogu means to him.

I was a bit shocked how it compared in size next to the Razor Crest in the last episode, but when I think of how big the Razor Crest was it makes sense there is more space in Slave 1, but I was thinking the same thing during this episode.

I really dig that Liam Neeson style warning from like from the movie "Taken" he was giving over the communication. Also how he repeated back to Moff Gideon his own words because he just doesn't forget the threat handed to him back in season 1. The look on Moff Gideon's face wasn't that egotistical arrogance he normally has, you can kind of tell he was pissed off with composure. The rivalry between them feels like it is now official.

I want Din to kneel by Grogu when he finds him on Gideon's ship remove his helmet after hugging Grogu to reveal a smile with tears and then be like "do you know what I've done for you?"

This episode gives me such intense secondhand tension/discomfort on Din's behalf during the helmetless period.

But I have to say, if Din made this many friends in two seasons, just imagine how many he'd make giving them the ol' HELP ME puppy-dog eyes live and in person. The helmet is for the galaxy's protection, y'all.

Srsly though, I love love love the contrast with the outward tough and competent demeanor we get with Din versus every time we see the vulnerable guy underneath.

Another good episode... Very Mad-Max-like at times!

Valin Hess was such a well played character, who's the actor? He really nailed the role as a fanatical Imperial officer. Also his speech in the officer mess there makes me think that we will indeed see the beginnings of the First Order (or are seeing them already).

Bill Burr was also great in this, nice bit of the backstory for him there, also loved his philosophical musings while they were riding in that Juggernaut. It's always good to see them straying a bit into the grey zones and bringing up some uncomfortable moral questions instead of just repeating the "Rebellion/New Republic good, the Empire bad" mantra.

Mando taking his helmet off... I think his beliefs are slowly starting to change now after meeting Bo Katan and learning that they all do not follow the same "rules".

That seismic charge that took the two TIE fighters out... Badass!

Is the next chapter the last one in Season 2?
