I can only endorse what I have read above allready. I was stunned how much acting quality the Mayfield guy brought into this episode.
He did a great job in bringing arguments in style of a devils advocate. Like "follow your own rules and think yourself " instead of following a codex that consists of loads of dogmatic rules. Bit like DJ in VIII but better.
I like this episode the most in season 2 (besides grogu going full into force skype :) last episode).

Another great action packed episode, really liked Boba Fetts new paint job and new black vest that his armour is attached to.

Also I think Slave 1 has knocked the Outrider out of 2nd spot in my favourite Star Wars ship list.

I wouldn't mind Boba and Fennec sticking around with Din as a crew for at least some of s3. Boba mainly being the pilot and Fennec as backup and help with maintaining the slave 1 and also help with Grogu when daddy needs to go to work solo

Great episode. Two things I didn't expect to see at this point - shoretroopers and Pedro Pascal.

This is why I get frustrated at some of the filler episodes.
This felt like BDH first episode last season. It slows down and it breathes.
There's action but it isn't about the action.
It's about the people. The characters.

There's humanity. Bill Burr's character got more development in that one episode with just how he looked at the Imperials than most characters on this show do with multiple episodes.

    Great episode.

    Great episode.
I think this episode's goal was to show the viewer how much Din has changed having Grogu in his life. It also gives us an idea of what Din is willing to sacrifice for Grogu.
I suspect they have something epic coming in the finale. I just hope it doesn't end with a cliffhanger!

PS. I don't want Boba to die. (boba fett)

Some turn to the jedi way, some fall to the dark side then Mandalorian Din falls to fatherhood!

You can see it in the beginning in a shot or so when he quickly turns around

The chase sequence was good, I like me a good chase sequence. It reminded me of Uncharted.

Maybe, but Mayfield actually cares about people; DJ didn't. Mayfield didn't understand the needless deaths he saw (I forget what battle they called it). I don't know why, but that might be my favorite scene of S2. It was a great character moment for him (something I wasn't expecting) like he wasn't just a bounty hunter or just a character for action scenes.

That’s what I was wondering too. It does seem to imply that Din was Imperial at some point.

Not really buying the theory that the face scanner is not an authentication system. If any old face would work, there’s no way Din would’ve taken off his helmet.

If Din used to be imperial, Cara will get salty if she finds out

i believe he said it was Barrin Koff?

and yeah, that was a really good moment. Could tell he was starting to break just sitting with the guy. Also good on him respecting Din’s helmet bit, “I didn’t see it”, and that shot.

Two episodes in a row and the next one will be three where there isn't a side quest as far as Din doing someone a favor or helping in a dangerous mission just to get some information. More of this in season 3 plz!

The Siege also counts though right? A side quest favor to allies but led to main story stuff.

Din's almost complete inability to function when he doesn't have his helmet on is fascinating. He seemed like such an innocent. Child-like and genuinely helpless until Mayfeld intervened.

It's like it's a cruch as much as it is his creed. It's the only way he knows how to stand.

He said Operation Cinder on the planet Burnin Konn, where they lost a division - 5 to 10k troopers, and many civilians as collateral damage. The operation is an evil plan of Palpatine to ruin his potential enemies and the surviving imperial forces all together in case he is killed. A kind of contingency plan to rebuild the empire after his death. The beginning of the first order.

Speaking of this he really did. I enjoyed his play too, his emotions, the way he was barging. Great play in this episode!

He goes through an emotional turbulence, lucky for him got revived at the end.

    Every good change starts annoying

I like that Boba Fett polished his armor, it looks better. And Din removed his helmet.:D
