    Hahaha... sounds like you had pretty much the same thought process and discussion as me :)

    I'll be happy to be proved wrong later, but I'm still at a complete loss as to where this fan speculation is coming from - a droid rolls in and chirps on spotting a creature similar to one he met ona swamp world some time ago... but idk, I just can't make the leap from there to it being Order 66/Temple saviour related

    the fact that Bulloch's passing was followed the next day by The Book of Boba Fett announcement just melts my fragile little mind.

    I figure Luke just took on what he thought was a good Jedi garb/uniform. Prior to ROTJ he was on a hero's journey / coming of age.

    I haven't seen any episodes of this show, but I immediately looked up the Luke scene on YouTube after hearing about it. I think its cool that they got Mark to do the dialogue, and the double matched his fighting style very well from Return of the Jedi.

    As for the character's uniform, I remember Lucas having two explanations for it back in the day. The first was that Luke was progressing more toward a potential Dark Side fall, and his outfit would reflect that (first all white, then grey, and finally black). The second explanation was a more practical one: Mark had scars from a car crash he suffered in the late '70s, and the costume department had to come up with something that would hide them better.

    It's fun to be a Star Wars fan again. Friday night I felt something I've not felt since, oh, before many of you were probably born.


    Seriously though, it's the first time since May 1983 I felt the same magic. Going to go binge watch Rogue one, the OT and both seasons of the Mandalorian and play Jedi Fallen Order while i wait for the next thing to come out.

    I am glad Officer Hotness got away. The only grey clothed bridge officer we saw shot was the one that was sitting across from her that activated the Dark Troopers. i have a feeling she took off with the blood. With all the scenes they showed her in I'm sure they would of given her death a shout out if it had occurred. I can see her being the Baroness to Gideon's Cobra Commander and springing him from captivity next season.

    So glad I never even bothered to watch Rise of Skywalker or more then 15 minutes of the Resistance cartoon.

    I don't think it resembled Luke's fighting style from ROTJ one bit. It was very prequel era looking. Which looks different from anything in the OT.

    Luke in ROTJ looked like a guy swinging a baseball bat, this made him look like an actual Jedi. Quite similar to ROTS Anakin's style.

    Stuff from legends are being cherry picked for the new continuity. I don't really minded and in this case, I'm glad Luke was able to slice and dice them dark troopers
