Sure. But given how it went in Rebels and Clone Wars it just feels manufactured not real.
What they're doing "makes sense" it just feels forced not natural.

I agree of the ST took place 5 years after the OT with Luke, Han and Leia still the focus of the trilogy. That isnt what happened Mark, Carrie and Harrison all got 30 years older and they became the supporting characters, not the leads.

 

Yes we finally get to see it and it has been a very long time coming too. Luke does not even drop his robe or take off his hood during the fight sequence.
Old Luke later is past his prime and into retirement I feel. Perhaps a little PTSD.

 

Right when Din removed his helmet, I wonder if Grogu was like "you're latino?"

 

Luke was basically forced to live with a new version of Anakin's massacre of younglings. That kind of PTSD must be crazy level.

Why when JJ used subtle fan service was unoriginal (trying to be original) and all was a copy, but when F and F use tones of it in every chapter (which I really love) is all glory and original (despite we see again and again costumes and ships and characters and planets we already know)?

I love TM, set only a few years after ROTJ. I always wanted something after ROTJ and TM is perfect.

ST is set 30 years after and what was done is what was to be done (maybe 10-15 years after could have worked as well with old actors, but who knows). Visually I love ST too, and TFA and TROS for me are such incredible SW that made me feel a kid again, like Mando did, and RO and SOLO previously did too.

Whish ST had more respect for that.

SW is xwings, empire suits, tie fighters, Jedi and the dark side, cool corridors and old ships, well known aliens and races and great music.

The question is, which of the new shows will make feel the same like TM and the last 5 movies?

Have a lot of faith in Kenobi, Andor and now with Ashoka and Rangers too, to keep watching old friends, old ships, old costumes, old Jedi.

 

I believe the term "Fan Service" is the most over used criticism used in franchise films.

 

The Book of Boba Fett is making me nervous because it's being released December 2021, same as Mandalorian S3. So if this is a spin-off show, I doubt there will be two similar star wars shows going on at the same time. So is this a big chapter episode for s3?

Boba better not replace Din and his show!

 

It is interesting that we as the audience have hindsight into what happened with Luke's training temple... Because the reason Ahsoka wouldn't train Grogu is that his fear and anger from his attachments could get the better of Grogu. And though we viewers know that attachments per se aren't the problem, we also know that Luke wasn't all that great at preventing that kind of meltdown... Ironic.

 

Din just acquired a claim to be ruler of Mandalore. The task of uniting the clans and reclaiming the home world is, as was discussed, at hand. So I don't see how this is meant to be the end of Din's story to be replaced by Boba's as some are contemplating.

 

Luke said Grogu will never be safe until he masters training. Any chance he does it by the end of s3 and tells Luke he wants to go back to Din?
