The Mandalorian continues to add more movie stars from the 80s. After enlisting Carl Weathers, Nick Nolte, and Werner Herzog, or even Michael Biehn, Favreau and his team have recruited Back to the Future's Christopher Lloyd to have a guest star role in the third season of the Disney Plus show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Not much else is known about Lloyd's role at this moment, but from the tag 'guest star', he should not be expected to pop up in more than one episode. This is yet another hit in the book of Favreau and Filoni recruiting stars from their favorite franchises, like Rocky (Weathers) or Terminator (Biehn). This will also be Lloyd's third major franchise, after playing Dr. Emmett Brown in Robert Zemeckis' Back to the Future trilogy and the Klingon antagonist Commander Kruge in Star Trek III: Search for Spock. While he may have gone unnoticed, Lloyd, now at 83, has been busy in the last few years, with roles in films such as The Tender Bar and Nobody. He is a three-time Emmy-winning actor, too.

The Mandalorian season 3 has been shooting for six months already and should be wrapping up soon. Ahsoka is up next to film in the Manhattan Beach lot. Besides Lloyd, we only know about Pedro Pascal, Carl Weathers, and Giancarlo Esposito returning to the third season of The Mandalorian for sure. Katee Sackhoff is also expected to return as Bo-Katan, along with another supporting character from season 2, as set photos leaked recently have revealed.

Bryce Dallas Howard and Carl Weathers will be back in the director's chair for the third season, and Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are overseeing the whole process, much like in the two previous seasons. We don't know about more directors yet, though Filoni is also expected to helm at least one episode.

The next Star Wars show coming to Disney Plus will be Obi-Wan Kenobi, which is targeting a May 25th release date.
