On the official channel it isn't labeled as trailer (2).

And I sure hope it's not the second trailer because that would be disappointing.

Well that of course is your opinion. I think it's awesome and helps me to better understand the plot. JC just did a whole dissertation on the new "Matrix Trailer".
Then there is of course the main Matrix channel that of course everyone knows about. It's a trailer called deja vu. If you really watch it. It has HUGE reveals.

At this time I'm going to dispense with convoluting the thread with this pointless back and forth over what is a trailer and what is not. I could ####ing care less. I'm posting because I enjoy the visual content being given. I'd much rather conversate about possible plot points and direction.

You're right, it's pointless. And yes, there is alot of to discover in that spot. I haven't watched that video yet, but what I've noticed myself:

    - the return of the Merowinger
    - young Morpheus as agent
    - machines are fighting other machines
    - Keanu Reeves actually shaved his hair
    - Jonathan Groff giving his best Hugo Weaving expression (Agent Smith confiremd?)

There is probably much more to see, but that's it for me right now. Hahaha!

So about a month ago I went ahead and watched the trilogy.

The first film was good- like, genuinely an actually incredible film. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

    The second... wasn't for me.

The third was okay. Nowhere near the first's quality, in my opinion, but I found a lot of good in it.

Not gonna lie, one of my favorite things about the series is the sort of interplay between the real world and the Matrix, and having stories in each affecting each other. Reminds me of how, in good Assassin's Creed games, the historical stories being told in the Animus are thematically linked to the modern day stories, and sometimes even play off of each other. It's also why I'm not too crazy about the extended stays in the Matrix, like in the second movie. I definitely prefer a better balance.

Really looking forward to the new movie. I hope that maybe after all these years, the filmmakers will have taken to heart some of the criticism of the latter two installments of the trilogy and try to recapture what really made that first one so special.

I like the first trailer more, especially the music. Okay the first trailer was hard to top. IMO it's one of the best trailers of 2021.

This one is good too. Quite revealing though. It's a nice touch to use the Wake Up music from the first Matrix movie.

Your opinion of the trilogy is shared by millions. The first installment being adored. The second and third, a down hill slope. I also share pretty much the same opinion. Some of the highway scene in reloaded was quite amazing along with fight between Neo and the Merovingian's henchmen. Revolutions was ok. The Zion battle was pretty cool. In fact I really enjoyed all of the Zion scenes.
It does look like they found away to revive that first installment feeling but with a twist. I'm excited for the reveal. I hope they haven't given away too much in the trailers.

Yes. That Rage Against The Machine at the end of the original seems like it was made for the end of that movie. That was one of the best endings EVRRRRR in cinema IMO.
How about that one eyed elder Niobie.

I stopped watching the trailers after the first trailer was released. At times, the trailers and tv spots pop up on Youtube, and I stop them immediately. For me, watching too much trailers somehow ruins the movie experience. I rather read about the trailers than watching.

Some folks don't read book excerpts for the same reason I don't watch all the trailers before seeing the film.

It has to be a very strong film in order for the trailers not to ruin the experience for me. A weak film, the trailers and tv spots will definitely ruin the experience. Anyway, once I see the film, I'll come back and watch all the trailers and tv spots if the film is good. Hoping its great!

I'm really digging this. Takes me back to my mid-to-late-20s, and the big Goth/Matrix wave that swept the University when I first started there. (We looked absolutely ridiculous! A sea of trenchcoats and sunglasses everywhere :D )

I'm getting more and more intrigued over this. I think there could be something very interesting going on here, not just a redux of Matrix fighting (which, I must admit, is a worry of mine... that it will be just another unneccesary spin-off; but yes, I have hope). I got really pumped by the two-sideds-of-the-mirror shot, with intercutting with the first one. I hope that is an actual thing in the story, and not just a PR move. They have to do something to make Matrix Redoux worth while, and I believe they might have something here :)

    Definitely looking forward to this!

I don't really care about her. I never was a fan of her character. I'm much more interested in Bugs and the new Smith.

Ok. I re-watched it. After focusing focusing my force energy, harder than Luke focused his in TLJ, to actually like this movie, my excitement and love for the franchise has now vanished from reality, like Luke, in TLJ. This movie was so bad. Finally I can breath a sigh of honest relief. After watching this movie, I feel like I just woke up from a nightmare of seeing the new matrix movie and being horribly disappointed. The only difference in my experience was that the nightmare was was in the "real world". I won't go into the details at the moment because I'm currently not in the mood to torcher myself.

Oh man, that sucks… you were one of the people I was convinced would like it, so if it did nothing for you then there’s not much hope for me either :(

I've came to the conclusion that Matrix 4 is for those people who wanted a happy end for the Matrix story. Let's face it Revolutions had a pretty dark ending.

I watched it last night and it was terrible. I mean I honestly thought I was watching some kind of parody.

I hear you and am not trying to influence you or dull your excitement as contradictory as that may sound. It's just my opinion. I still would like to see you give it a shot.....for you. I'd like to hear your critique.

2 & 3 aren't exactly great but Resurrections makes those films look like a masterpiece.
