    In A New Hope we had the Dianoga and got teased with the skeleton of a Krayt Dragon, in Empire we got the Wampa and the Space Slug, in Return Of The Jedi we got the Rancor and the Sarlacc..

    Not to mention all the other things in the prequels which I can't be bothered to learn the names of.

    So surely we're going to get some new monsters in the new trilogy, out of all those i'd choose the Rancor to return.

    I'm all for originality and I can't wait to see what JJ has in store for us but I'd really love to see another rancor. Or better yet a herd, or whatever you'd call a group of rancors!

    There will almost certainly be a signature monster of TFA and I can't wait to see it! I've decided to put the disappointment of the PT behind me and have blind faith and optimism that this will be the Star Wars film we've been waiting 32 years to see.

    Am I crazy or there was a rumor that we would see many Rancors attacking Tatooine? I don't know where I read it or if it's from that Kinect Game.

    I would as well. However, in the old "legends" EU the Krayt dragons were rendered extinct by Kenobi I believe. So who knows if we'll see them in 7 or the ST for that matter.

    BUT I think seeing Kenobi kill Krayt dragons in his own spinoff would be EPIC!

    Personally I wouldn't mind seeing a few "realistic" animals, by which I mean nothing too powerful but menacing enough... like a pack of wolves (or some Star Wars analog) that play a role of creating tension for a scene.

    On the krayt dragon part: Now is Obi-Wan's "shout" in the blu-ray of A New Hope still supposed to be a krayt dragon, or something else? Because I certainly hope they don't sound like that.

    Hm indeed. Though I seem to remember seeing something that led me to believe they'd been domesticated. Something like a bridle or harness of sorts, reminiscent of what you would put on an ox for hauling. I could swear I saw that, but my mind may have just made that up.
