    Was the name Boba Fett ever actually uttered during the originals besides by Han on the skiff?

    "Boba Fett? Boba Fett?! Where?!"

    Lando calls him "That Bounty Hunter" in ESB.

    I'm searching my feeble brain but for the life of me I don't think his name is actually ever uttered in the films until a moment before he flails off into the sarlaac! Is that right?

    And if it is - how interesting the power of toy marketing that EVERYONE knew who Boba Fett was when we went to see ESB - and they never even said his name in the movie!!??!?!

    I believe he told Luke his name was Boba Fett in the Holiday Special...but other than that, Han was the only one. And the credits of course...if that counts.

    I forgot about the Holiday Special. Sadly I didn't see it that year and was always on the hunt for a video tape forever after. Especially after seeing how cool Fett looked on the back of the packages for the mail in.

    I think this also gets to the heart of some of the people complaining about TFA not having enough explanation. Think about that for a minute - imagine if Snoke was never named or Phasma - in the film. Just showed up, had their bits, and were gone. That's basically how Boba Fett was handled in ESB.

    The short animated sequence is pretty cool. A short adventure with Luke and a dinosaur-riding Boba Fett...but other than that...you pretty much need a mind wipe after seeing it.

    But you have to remember that most SW characters were never named in the movies and it was only threw the toys, books, cards or comics that many of these characters were known. Even many of the figures came out when said characters had no names and that's why we have dudes like Hammerhead, Walrus Man, Snaggletooth, Nikto and Squid Head. Many characters didn't have names until years after the films and that's why there are even some today that don't have names mentioned in the films and it's not till we have some sort of extra that we get to know these characters. Sidon Ithano, Quiggold and Sarco Plank were characters from TFA whos names were never mentioned in the film yet we already knew about them from other media while there are still a few characters who have been made as toys and yet they still don't have proper names like Unkars Thug and Hassk Thug.

    This is why I really don't care about the complaint: "Why do I have to read a comic to learn about this minor character with two or less lines?? Ugh, Disney is an evil money grubbing cesspool! UGH"

    Answer: You don't have to read it, you're only used to 40 years of knowing who each and every character that has zero lines or significance other than window curtains.

    Don't we also have many 'characters' who's monikers have changed over the years?
