Judging by the last two minutes, rumors of his death have been greatly exaggerated.

    This game is crazy, yo.

Because our offensive playcalling has been ass all year long. We coasted by with a surprise flip to the running game that teams didn't have time to practice against and adjust to. Once the plays got more desperate in the fourth quarter and they let Lamar throw anything beyond short passes straight into coverage, he has been a miracle worker. He absolutely needs to work on his ball security over the off-season, and the fact that he is the youngest quarterback to start in the playoffs - and a rookie at that - certainly didn't help matters. I'd say he found himself in that fourth quarter and I respect Harbaugh's decision of keeping him in.

Managing two touchdowns in two minutes and having a legitimate shot at making that comeback is nothing to frown upon - look at Watson's playoff debut against a worse defense, for example. Still, the fumbling issues he's had ultimately came back to bite him. Rookie Lamar doesn't make that comeback - but sophomore Lamar might.

Here's something crazy. Lamar ended the game with more passing yards and passing TDs than Phillip Rivers.

Guys are too quick to label the kid a bust and are somehow expecting a 21 year old to play better than seasoned veterans.

YES! That interception was so clutch. Had me worried there the Eagles would get a lead on us.

This is such a weird fumble...
The ref literally recovered the ball for Chicago. Like, picked it up for us.
    VERY legal and VERY cool.

    Edit: Aww crud.

Here's an interesting piece that sheds some light on that abysmal offensive performance of Baltimore in the first three quarters and a half:
What's especially damning to me is that Mornhinweg apparently thought everything was fine up until the final minutes of the game. Once they flipped the game plan completely in the other direction, and thanks to some miracle plays such as the one below, the game unsurprisingly opened up.

Anyone else saw the mascot's reaction on that field goal miss?

I gasped when that throw was made.
After reading the article it kinda explains why the o-line completely let down Lamar. They knew when to defend against the pass and when they had to just stack the box. It gives you a LOT of leeway in knowing when and how to get to the QB and sack/strip the ball away from him.

Reminds me of that Lions-Jets game in Week 1. Same situation. They caught Stafford redhanded and got something crazy like 5 interceptions out of him.

    Ughh. It still hurts.

We're coming back with a vengeance in 2019, count on it. Now it's all up to the Colts to take it all the way.

Wow, that is really damning. Bye-bye, Marty. I think it's also worth mentioning the ingenuity brought to how the Chargers opted to defend Baltimore's rushing attack. I think a lot of the defensive packages had 4 down linemen and 7 defensive backs -- and no linebackers (with the exception of Melvin Ingram being in there somewhere). So, basically, instead of the traditional 3 linebackers and 4 DB's, they subbed in safeties to get to the ball carrier quicker. Gotta give the Chargers credit, it seems they left no stone unturned in their preparation of this game.

And still, the Ravens had a chance to the very end.

The Bears put everyone on notice this year. They are back, and in a big way... definitely going to have some targets on their backs next year.

Yeah! They used 7 DBs instead of the traditional loudout. Crazy adjustment. GMFB covered the aftermath of this game pretty damn well, IMO:

I hope this is a coincidence and NOT AT ALL what the tweet seems to imply.

Oh man. It sure sounds like it!

That was some really good stuff. I love the crew of GMFB, when I still had cable it was practically the only football coverage I would watch anymore.

Aye. Since the mascot's eyes obviously can't blink. It's just this permanent 'shocked' reaction on it's face.

So, as it turns out, he didn't entirely "miss" it... they officially changed that to a blocked kick yesterday.

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...ago-bears-miss-blocked-field-goal/2506102002/

Apparently one of the Eagles just barely got a piece of it, but it was enough. I doubt this takes any of the pain away, but it might ease the mind just the tiniest bit.

It's a nice gesture that the NFL changed the ruling but let's be real, even without that miss our Special Teams was complete garbage all year. 5th highest kick return yards given up per attempt, 32nd in kick return yards gained per attempt. Just one year ago we were about league average in both stats. But after Chris Tabor came in, we got significantly worse in the kick return game on both sides. Parkey was also signed from a Chris Tabor connection.

Oh well... we can only build off this season. I mean, how many people actually ACTUALLY thought we could go 12-4?

At least Trubisky can now finally shave that amish looking playoff beard and show off that beauty of a jawline.
