Hot take: in spite of Luck and Vinny's retirement, Ballard's moves as GM have constructed a team good enough to succeed them and win the division anyway. We only needed Brissett to step up and he HAS stepped up.
I got him, Andrews and Hollywood for cheap in my fantasy league and they are singlehandedly saving my season. You guys are on pace to have a historic offense. Just enjoy the hype, my dude.

I hear you, I want to be excited for the Bills, but also this was just the Jets and Giants that they're putting up numbers against. Granted, both on the road, and good teams are supposed to handily beat bad teams, but my expectations are still tempered.

Well that's some... good... serviceable.... interesting... company?

A strong defense covers up a lot of inefficiencies. Mitchy will be alright tho. Needs another weapon or two and he will be just fine.
I'm surprised I'm not hearing more about Brissett. That's better than Luck himself started last year. Hope he keeps it going!!

As for Vinatieri, I'm not ready to see him go. I know he's struggling, but I would love to see him nail a few more game clinching kicks.

Yeah. You can't pick who you're gonna play. That Jets team looked pretty good before the whole team died this week.
I'm watching them play RN and even at 45% of their strength they look pretty okay containing Baker and the Browns.

We're not ready to see him go either, but I feel this is going to be his last season.

    Ooof...
Jets offense now looks even worse than Miami.
    --- Double Post Merged, Sep 17, 2019 ---
Myles Garett just killed Siemian with yet another late hit. Luke Falk is in. Gregg Williams gets a lot of noise for trying to injure the opponent but it seems like this is already the Browns like 7 or 8th personal foul 1.5 games in.

I felt that way when Marino, Elway, Moon, Montana, and others retired. It’s hard to imagine an NFL without certain players, but someone else always comes along. I see lots of potential. It will be interesting to see who can take that next step.

And so it begins. @DarthSnow you have to add the Giants @ Bucs game now to this week's picks.

Wow... this happened way too soon. Though I guess if you think he's the guy, why not get him in there.

Man, with the way QB's have been going down (Foles, Roethlisberger, Brees, all of the Jets)... you almost have to wonder if they are going to try and take advantage and move Eli right now.

Seeing another Manning in Saints gear, if only for half a year, could be a really exciting move and one that is mutually beneficial.

Barring any unexpected injury like last year, I have the 49-ers as my dark horse candidate to seize the NFC West from the Rams. I also think the Cardinals will only get better every week, and even now I could name at least twelve teams that I believe are worse than Arizona.

    Also, get hyped:

Dang, I'll say. I would throw Carolina in this list too... or at least swap them with TB. But the Steelers and Browns? savage....

Not saying you're wrong, just saying that is mighty bold of you. And I do love it.

The Cardinals have faced some fairly tough defenses in their first two weeks and came out with a stronger offensive performance than both Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Kyler Murray is at third place in passing yards among quarterbacks, and even though he struggles to capitalize in the redzone, at least he's not an interception machine like Mayfield or Roethlisberger. While the Browns and the Steelers struggle to find an offensive identity, the identity of the Arizona Cardinals is pretty strongly established, I'd say.

I just need the Texans and Steelers to do poorly because my Dolphins have both of their first-round picks in the next draft. That’s right, three picks in the first that could potentially all be high, and then two picks in the second.

Then in the 2021 draft, they already have two in the first and two in the second then too.

Yes, it’s sad to be thinking of the draft this early, but I feel better about the future than I have in decades.

    Go Dolphins!

    Good boy!

Also. This season is shaping up to be a statistical aberration. You can throw the old stuff out the window because we're about to see a lot of firsts in the league this year.

The only thing that frustrates me about the situation is the Minkah Fitzpatrick trade. I was really high on him and hoped the Dolphins would keep him on the team as part of the rebuild. It's a shame that now I have to root against the bloke at least twice per year. The Dolphins staff also did Minkah no favors by playing him out of position, which is why I reckon the trade request got underway in the first place.

I would trade for Ramsey only if the Jaguars accepted a first round pick, fifth round pick and Jimmy Smith. Two firsts just seems crazy and the Ravens tend to avoid spending a lot of their draft capital on players. In fact, I think they never gave away their first round pick throughout the entire history of the franchise.

Yes, he was really good. But if he isn't on board with their plan for the future or doesn't fit what they want to do, then best for him and the team to move on. I'm glad they got the first round pick they wanted. Tunsil was really good too, and every team needs a good LT, but you don't build a team around a LT. His value was in adding a pic that could be someone to build a team around. I don't care how well he can block, no amount of time would get these Dolphin QBs to start throwing TDs. Best to make moves for the future.

The Tonawanda Kardex! My favorite bit of old NFL lore. Thank you for posting this here, Rodney.

@Meister Yoda, as the newest member of our merry entourage, if you're interested in the historical aspects of the sport - how it all came to be and how we got here - this video does an amazing job going through the entire century while still keeping things fast-paced and brief.

In the wake of the impending match-up between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens, this article puts into words why the Ravens have a good shot at walking away from Arrowhead Stadium with a win.

They also seem to have lost their starting LT. I expect Judon and your guys to feast on Mahomes.
