Also another reason I dont think Del Torro being Ezra is that crazy of a theory is just that... the story of Rebels.. it shows the story of a rebel cell joining the rebellion yeah, but they made Ezra an important legacy character.. has to tie in somehow. Ezra has met Obi Wan, Darth Vader, Ahsoka, Maul, Yoda.. I just dont think hes a random character, I think theres a chance they planted some seeds.. cause Im still like theres some sort of importance that has to come from the Ezra character or some impact

 

I don't think DJ will be a Jedi, Sith, or a Force user. He's probably just a very rich person in Canto Bight who Finn and Rose seeks for help.

 

Oh yeah not disputing that but just that what is considered Jedi is usually the Jedi order - Dark Jedi for me is shorthand for ex Jedi or other force users who use the darkside but aren't part of the Sith - Grey Jedi likewise but more in the middle like Ahsoka "I'm no Jedi" Tano.

 

I've thought about the name DJ. Del Toro's character looks like a gunslinger. DJ reminded me of the name Django, which is the name of a character from an old western movie, and I think Jango Fett was named after him, too. Probably nothing, but I thought it was interesting.

I'm thinking Boba Fett, but who knows.

 

How old was Boba in the classic trilogy? 30 something? I dont think the ages will match. But its an intereting theory.

 

I sense he is some form of substitute for Han Solo type of character.

Every decent Star Wars movie (that excludes prequel trilogy by default) must have its scruffy-looking nerf herder.

Ashoka is't grey. She rejected the Jedi because they weren't living up to their own standards. She is even more light side than them.

If you go by using both light and dark sides. Sidious told Anakin that to truly understand something you must embrace all of it. Not just the Dogmatic views of the Jedi.

Sith the original grey Jedi.

 

What if DJ stands for Dume Jarrus?

If Kanan dies, Ezra leaves the Rebellion and takes the two last names of his former master (Caleb Dume / Kanan Jarrus).

 

Would be excited if it is Ezra. But I do keep getting let down by the new story group...so..

 

Even if he is ezra, he'll just be the Jabba/Maz of this movie, I feel.

That jacket worn by "DJ" instantly brought my thoughts to Deckard. (Blade Runner).

The rounded look of collar seemed similar, I suppose.
(No- It's absolutely not the same.)

 

What if DJ stands for Don Juan? He could be a shady womanizer in the underworld?

 

Or maybe D is for Ducain, as some had speculated before (one of the fellows who stole the MF).

 

But what is the J for then?

Ducain's full name is already known though. Gannis Ducain.

The problem with him being Ezra is - you need a good reason why 1) He gave up using the force and his lightsaber 2) Fighitng for the Rebellion and 3) Why Luke was never told to find him for trianing/help

 

True that. Maybe J is just for practical terms lol.

Yeah, that is my main issue with him being Ezra. Though... if they can provide a good explanation and reasoning behind... maybe they could pull it off. Especially since TLJ would be most surely before the Finale of Rebels Season 4, so revealing he is Ezra spoils the fate of the Ghost crew a little bit.
