Maybe if it is Ezra, he has been in the unknown regions gathering intel. And we don't know for sure he has given up his lightsaber. It would be hard to keep a low profile with a lightsaber on your belt, but not so hard if it is a blaster. The saber could be in a coat pocket.

 

DJ is not Ezra people! Pablo already debunked it several times!

 

If Ezra isn't constantly hunted by Vader and the Inquisitors then he has tog ive up the Jedi stuff.

So he is part of a very fragile rebellion fighting the Empire - then just goes into the uncharted region for...........reasons?

 

I hope he just sticks to the beats, if he breaks into song I'm out.

Agreed Ezra seems to be everywhere right now.

 

To gather info on the regions where Thrawn comes from..who knows.

 

Instead of actually fighting the threat that is........a threat.

 

That would depend on when he went. If it was anytime post ROTJ then I don't see the problem. A smart military doesn't just gather intel on their current enemy, but they also sometimes send their best to gather intel on their future enemies.

 

Then you run into the same issues - why no lightsaber, why no force during the OT?

The rebels aren't a military with the resources to scout other area's that pose no threat tot hem int he moment.

 

The box or flight case he's got his foot on could be his record collection. We haven't seen vinyl yet. Mind you, BDT has already played The Collector. The case tho... Looks like it carries something important...

 

Also of note, his duster is covering his left side, which would be where he keeps his lightsaber.

 

I think you are right he probably won't be Ezra. But I used to be able to get a 2 litre of Mt Dew, a big bag of chips and cups to share into the movies in college. Hiding a lightsabre in that duster can't be that hard.

 

He coulda been chilling in carbonite, or something similar. Captured by solo or through some other means. It'd have an interesting spin and could explain why he's younger. And if he freed himself from the Sarlacc, his armor would've mostly dissolved.

 

Just a new character like everyone else

 

I think the fact that his character goes unnamed is significant. Why would he be unnamed unless his name would be a significant reveal?

If he is the Lando equivalent for the new trio of heroes then he could be named. If he is just some scoundrel then he could be named. Although I begrudgingly accept he is not Ezra Bridger, perhaps Han Solo's brother is a possibility?

I wonder how he will be listed in the credits? What about an action figure?

What is more annoying is them suggesting they dont even no his real name...

I mean Ezra really is the only reveal that I can see as making waves.
Otherwise this seems like more pointless mystery box.

Oh, well I said maybe Kanan's death (If they go that way) hits him hard and he decides to turn away from the force by the end of next season. We hear Kanan say "We were meant to be Jedi for this moment right now" or something of the sort. They probably help flush out the Rebellion some more, and Kanan dies in the process and Ezra walks away.

Its a stretch, Im starting to think DJ stands for Duster Jacket lol

The main problem with BDT playing Ezra is that it wouldn't be a big deal for casual film goers who make up most of the ticket sales for any SW Film.

One of the biggest films in cinema-history cannot rely on a small cartoon series for a twist in it's story - it just wouldn't pack a punch. Only a small minority of people would understand it. Just picture it:

"This is Ezra. Ezra is a strong force sensitive dude who lived during the OT... but hid away for a few decades but now he's back. Oh and there's a chance he's Rey's Dad." Ummmmmmmmm... no.
