I would seriously like that! And just to rub sand in Lucas' eyes I think it is a good idea to cast exactly the same leads so that J.J. superior directing can reveal that those actors of the prequels were actually quite good but that their performance was ruined by no other than George Lucas himself. Seriously, Natalie Portman and Ewan McGregor are all excellent actors, but the way they were directed and the material that was handed to them was utter bullocks. I even think Hayden Christianson can be a good actor, at least if you would allow him to improvise and don't give him lines no sensible person would ever speak.

It is fun to speculate about, but I can't imagine that would ever happen. It is simply too risky financially and would set up a Lucas versus Disney battle that would only serve to distract from the brand. No good could come of it.

It is already war between Lucasfilm and George Lucas from the moment good old George started to stick knives in Kathy Kennedy's back by criticising Lucasfilm's new direction on national television. Of course he was annoyed by the succes of TFA (first he had said he "really really liked it") and the fact that the critics adored the movie so much suprised him. Of course George hates critics, that's why he now only makes movies 'for his friends'. He also dislikes his audience, he thinks us stupid and naive. He hears some troll buzz about a rehash and reads the one and only negative critical review within the metacritic grade (LA Times) and then starts to exactly reiterate and copy those marginal negative comments. Of course he NOW tries to make his own work stand out as 'always original and new', but we all know that just a few years earlier he was applauding his own cyclistic and poetic ("it must rhyme") form of storytelling. He stabs Kennedy, Disney and Abrams in the back just because they are starting to eclipse his own limited success. We all know the prequels were crap, and we all know that in terms of movie-making and directing A New Hope really was not that interesting compared to Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. It was new and gave birth to the universe, but that's it. ROTJ and ESB were extremely good movies because George was not directly in charge and directors who were actually good at what they did were changing the story and dialogue Lucas had handed them in the interest of making an actual good movie. So is TFA, a very good movie and the product of good and proper directing and writing talent.

No Lucas is really done for me. I can't wait for a remake of the prequels. Let us now discuss what the story of those remade prequels should be and in the effort we will start to find out and comprehend how bad a director and screenplay writer George Lucas actually is.

Well I take it that Disney respects George Lucas too much for that too happen. Perhaps in 50 years time people will think the prequels were the best Star Wars movies ever made.

Some weird alternate universe future where Disney has successfully spun off a whole series about Wicket and Jar Jar teaming up in a time travel adventure where they rescue young Obi Wan from the evil clutches of the Jedi cult:confused:

This is true, but it hurts their case.. it doesn't make it more acceptable. Plus it isn't just the Death Star thing, there are many other elements ripped out of the original trilogy, and the opening of TFA almost directly parallels A New Hope:

Villain and his men arrive and shoot some people

Villain kills someone who won't give him information

Feisty character puts information in a droid

    Droid goes off into nowhere

Feisty character captured and tortured for information

"Oh.... there's a new one out? Let me guess, is it the "rebels" VS stormtroopers and they blow up a superweapon at the end? I'll pass."

The Starkiller destroys planet sequence would have lasted at least 40 minutes and would have included every kind of explosion from exploding furniture to imploding suburban bicycle sheds.

I'm cool with the Prequels being rebooted someday, but I don't want Abrams to do it. I feel he rehashes too much, and he didn't explain certain things in TFA, whether it was because he likes mystery or because he wanted to keep the pace going.

He said that it was because he needed to show audiences that they were watching familiarity while also not being alienated at the same time .
