I'm hoping that he can salvage the Fantastic Four reboot (which sounds like a mess, to be blunt), if only because I like young blood in Hollywood with fresh ideas, and I want his Star Wars movie to be good. If he can't and the movie tanks, then at least the possibility of Marvel Studios getting the rights to the characters again can still be on the table.

Honestly, I never heard of Josh Trank before the spinoff. But like you I too like young directors with fresh ideas, although I could care less about FF. I only care about bhow he does with SW.

I enjoyed Chronicle, but it's a found-footage film, I've yet to see anything else he's done so I'm a little concerned. I'm no fan of Fantastic Four, but I'll see it just to see what he can do. Hopefully it's great.

Yeah, agreed on Chronicle. I was unimpressed. Actually, I never heard of Trank before he was announced for Spinoff 2. Perhaps some advanced reviews of FF were good enough . . . that and his reference from Simon Kinberg.

I didn't like Chronicle and I hope that the Fantastic Four reboot doesn't do well, for 1 I don't like the casting choices at all (not just Johnny Storm/the Human Torch) and 2 I want MARVEL to get the movie rights back so they can incorporate them into the MCU. I liked the first two FF movies, I don't see a reason to reboot them, other than to get a new Johnny Storm actor seeing as Chris Evans is now Captain America.

Although Trank is now part of the SW fam I'm torn about FF. I actually agree with you in all regards -- I want Disney to incorporate its biggest properties back into the universe -- FF and Spider-Man. Lucky for them the Spidey pics have been awful which is a shame because Garfield was a perfect choice to play Spidey.

Completely agree. I liked Garfield and Stone was Peter and Gwen but yeah the overall movie hasn't been very good. Electro was such a throw-away character and Harry Osbourne went from "I missed you buddy!" to "I'm gonna kill your girlfriend and take your blood!" in 5 seconds.

It makes me wonder if these other studios Sony and FOX are purposely destroying the titles as a "screw you" to Disney dominating everything??? In fact Fox and Sony will probably never agree to sell them back unfortunately.

The X-Men series I actually like and I'm okay with them being separate from the MCU. I think FF would make a good show on ABC, a comedic action/sitcom. Could be good

I forgot about X-Men. Yeah, FOX is pretty invested in it so I doubt that will ever revert back to Disney. At least not in our lifetimes.

FF would make for a great show so long as they're willing to spend the money on the FX NOT like SHIELD, which I didn't care for the few times I saw it. Also HATED the retcon of Agent Dooby or whoever being resurrected for the show, which IMO ruined the Avengers in the sense that his death was what they had to Avenge. But I digress . . . :p

I think he is a Life Model Decoy but they haven't really explained it, he doesn't even know what happened. It's one of the mysteries of the show.

I watched the first three and the season finale. The season finale tied in with The Winter Soldier and Nick Fury handing what was left of SHIELD to Coulson as director.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 did so poorly that Sony wants to profit-share Spider-Man with Disney and add him back to the MCU without loosing the movie rights.

That's interesting and unusual. Is there a source for this?

Rumors about the production of The Fantastic Four indicate that Josh Trank might not get a shot at making a movie for the Star Wars universe. If they're true, then I'm not sure if I should pity him for cracking under the pressure of directing a larger film and/or suffering from drug addiction, or if I should be disgusted with him for being a complete jerk to his crew and handling the production so unprofessionally that it brought financial damage to the studio. (I'm a little more inclined to fall into the second mindset considering that he apparently took a photo of his dog's anus and said that was what he thought of the fans, and that there are rumors flying around that he verbally abused Kate Mara to the point of tears.) Either way, I think that he'd sooner be seen in rehab rather than behind the camera again. Sad.
