    It would be consistent with the rumors from earlier this year that Leia is seriously injured in the film and most of the Resistance is destroyed, save for a few remnants.

    Hard to figure out a pathway to resolution if most of the Resistance was destroyed, when there wasn't a lot of Resistance to start with, and no Republic coming to the rescue. I mean what is to stop the First Order if there is no Republic or Resistance? Unless...

    Oh, man. Reading Life Debt really made me feel for Han and Leia. Every scene in the book with them is heart breaking for me, knowing all that happens afterwards for them. Specially when they talk about "their boy." So tragic. :(

    a lot of people want to ascribe extra meaning to Leia hugging Rey at the end (and why she sends her to Ahch-To).
    i don't know if this has been discussed before (can't remember), but given that Snoke felt the awakening and Ren Ben did too, do you suppose there's a chance Leia felt it as well--and subsequently "recognized" the signature of it in Rey in the same way Ren did one she met her?

    depending on what the "awakening" means to them, this might have been sufficient assurance from the Force that Rey is their new champion in some way.

    thoughts? quibbles? quarrels?
