I am glad my reasoning isn’t Force Madness and has enough plausibility to others like yourself. :)

Great theory, nice read, but in my world I don't even believe JJ Abrams knows who Asajj Ventress is. If he does, and this theory is right, TROS would be epic, however, this theory sounds like a fanboys wet dream... too cool to ever be depicted on screen. Maybe that will change with the Kevin Feige Star Wars film... there is still hope.

I have my lightsabers crossed (red)(red) in hopes that TROS will be this epic. If JJ doesn’t know who Asajj Ventress is, surely Kathleen Kennedy and others who meet in the story board room does and could have briefed Abrams on Ventress.

It would tie nicely into Clone Wars Canon and the new sequel series.

I am glad I could help you get more excited for TROS. :)

If she is related to Palpatine she would be more likely his granddaughter then daughter. He has obviously been hiding out or slowly regaining strength since he was disposed of. I don’t think he was out making babies during that time. Rey was born approximately 11 years after ROTJ. Palpatine is not likely the father.

I don’t know, Dennis Quaid in his late fifties just got engaged to twenty six year old. So Palpatine could have had a younger mistress like Ventress. But your idea that Sidious is the Grandfather works too.

That is true but Dennis Quaid has not been thrown down a reactor shaft and survived an explosion of a super space station. I don’t think he was in the shape to father any children. Otherwise I think it would be plausible

True but Sidious could have fathered Rey prior to his fate in the reactor. Ventress could have carried Rey in her womb for eight months prior to the events aboard the Death Star II. The other possibilty is the Emperor used the Force to create life in the womb like Plagueis did with Anakin.

Unfortunately, Ventress died 19 years before Yavin. It was in the canon novel "Dark Disciple". She was involved with Quinlan Vos.

Star Wars Underworld was apparently going to deal with a female mercenary, who was involved with Palpatine. She was to have messed him up. Could have set up a Great Grand parent, if Lucas was planning the long game, and some return to post ROTJ, maybe as a series.

How can Ventress be Rey's mom? She died in the Clone Wars...

But isn't Rey born more than a decade later? That would be a long pregnancy even for space whale

I think the Anakin v2 is a safe bet. Created by Sidious, born without a father, and if she ends him, then it rhymes with the prophecy of the chosen one.

There are larger holes in ST story and the side stories like Solo having Darth Maul when he was slain by Palpatine in the Clone Wars.

Lol “The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to abilities some consider unnatural.” (ewok)(red)

The other problem is that, if I remember correctly, Daisy herself said it was fairly obvious from VII who were her parents. I guess her parents could have been born during the clone wars (or one of them could have been)...

According to milord Kylo her parents are junk traders who traded her for drinking money. I however, believe milord was deceiving Rey.

I hold out hope Lord Sidious is Rey’s relative.

Just to highlight what I said in the post I quoted:

"Yep, the more I think about it the more it could be. How old is Rey supposed to be? At the time of VII it is what, 34 ABY? So she was connived say in 14 ABY? So assuming Palps had a kid (god I don't wanna imagine the act of conception ) born in 10 BBY that would make his child 24 at the time Rey was conceived?

Yeah, I think it could work. It would also explain her strength in the force, her going to the darkness.."

IF somehow Kylo say killed her parents, but she got away....

    Great post!

I keep feeling haunted by a scene in TFA when Kylo says “anything else?” The lieutenant mentions the girl and Kylo Force grips the lieutenant and says, “what girl?!” If Rey is the daughter of junk traders, why would Kylo be so alarmed? And doesn’t Kylo say in his interrogation of Rey, “I’ve heard so much about you..”? This goes back to my theory in post one, that Plagueis created the Skywalkers and Palpatine created Rey as his heir and challenger to the Skywalkers.

Yes! When TLJ came out I argued not to believe Kylo and his story about her being the child of "filthy junk traders who sold her for drinking money." When you watch that scene in TFA it does feel like he knows about "a girl." Who was this girl?

Okay, so Palpatine has a kid, maybe via artificial insemination, or not... around 15BBY. About 30 years later (give or take) that kid has a kid. It is say 15 ABY and that kid is Rey. It is possible.

Taking the Aftermath trilogy information, we know Palpatine had plans. He had a "plan B" for what to do if the Empire fell. Burn it all down. Wouldn't it make sense for him to have a plan incase Vader turned? Heck even a plan to replace Vader?

And thanks! You got me thinking. ;)
