Who else wants an Old Republic film? What event(s) would you want it to cover?

I'd want to see the schism between Jedi and Sith.

Yes, please... Darth Bane and setting up the Rule of Two.

"Always two there are; no more, no less. A master and an apprentice."

"the Sith lords, when they started out thousands of years ago, embraced the dark side. They were greedy and self centered and they all wanted to take over, so they killed each other. Eventually there was only one left and that one took on an apprentice. And for thousands of years, the master would teach the apprentice, the master would die, the apprentice would then teach another apprentice, become the master, and so on. But there could never be more than two of them, because if there were, they would try to get rid of the leader," - Lucas
    --- Double Post Merged, Jan 12, 2016, Original Post Date: Jan 12, 2016 ---
"The Sith were founded thousands of years ago. They were a cult given over to the dark side of the Force, embracing fully the concept that power denied was power wasted. A rogue Jedi Knight had founded the Sith, a singular dissident in an order of harmonious followers, a rebel who understood from the beginning that the real power of the Force lay not in the light, but in the dark. Failing to gain approval for his beliefs from the Council, he had broken with the order, departing with his knowledge and his skills, swearing in secret that he would bring down those who had dismissed him.

He was alone at first, but others from the Jedi order who believed as he did and who had followed him in his study of the dark side soon came over. Others were recruited, and soon the ranks of the Sith swelled to more than fifty in number. Disdaining the concepts of cooperation and consensus, relying on the belief that acquisition of power in any form lends control, the Sith began to build their cult in opposition to the Jedi. Theirs was not an order created to serve; theirs was an order created to dominate.

Their war with the Jedi was vengeful and furious and ultimately doomed. The rogue Jedi who had founded the Sith order was its nominal leader, but his ambition excluded any sharing of power. His disciples began to conspire against him and each other almost from the beginning, so that the war they instigated was as much with each other as with the Jedi.

In the end, the Sith destroyed themselves. They destroyed their leader first, then each other. What few survived the initial bloodbath were quickly dispatched by watchful Jedi. In a matter of only weeks, all of them died.

    All but one.

It was patience that had saved the Sith order in the end. It was patience that would give them their victory now over the Jedi.

The Sith who had survived when all of his fellows had died had understood that. He had adopted patience as a virtue when the others had forsaken it. He had adopted cunning, stealth, and subterfuge as the foundation of his way- old Jedi virtues the others had disdained. He stood aside while the Sith tore at each other like kriks and were destroyed. When the carnage was complete, he went into hiding, biding his time, waiting for his chance.

When it was believed all of the Sith were destroyed, he emerged from his concealment. At first he worked alone, but he was growing old and he was the last of his kind. Eventually, he went out in search of an apprentice. Finding one, he trained him to be a Master in his turn, then to find his own apprentice, and so to carry on their work. But there would only be two at any one time. There would be no repetition of the mistakes of the old order, no struggle between Siths warring for power within the cult. Their common enemy was the Jedi, not each other. It was for their war with the Jedi they must save themselves.

The Sith who reinvented the order called himself Darth Bane."

I would love to see the 100 years darkness portrayed - part of it anyway and I would love to see Darth Bane and the rule of two.

But, there is something I want to see first, something that I wanted to see in the prequels before being disappointed by the unthreatening enemy that were most of the battledroids; I want to see Mandalorians, in their pomp, unleashing terror on the galaxy. I want to see them posing the kind of threat they did in the KotOR comics. The Mandalorians deserve to be front and centre of a movie and I want to see the fiercest non force using warriors in the history of the galaxy laying waste to the republic.

Oh for sure. I really want to see the Mandalorian wars ending with the Great Scourge of Malachor V

I'd really want to see a netflix series or HBO series or something like that when it comes to anything with Old Republic. It's just so extensive and huge compared to main skywalker line that we have that it would need a lot of exposition and details.

I want to see how the Jedi and Sith, who were once together, split over some differences, most of which we don't know about. If not, I want to see KOTOR basically, or anything starring Revan, Bastilla and crew.

This. I've been curious about this for many years. The TPM novelization hints at a Lucifer figure causing the split when Sidious recalls that the Sith were founded by the lone dissident in an order of harmonious followers. I imagine that the pre-split order wasn't 100% on one side of The Force or the other.

I would, it would be very neat to see the Jedi and Sith in a war before the rule of two.

Why not something out of the box, a movie with Hutt Cartels and smugglers.. and the republic trying to hunt and stop them... i'd like to see smugglers shown for the criminals that they ARE and not to be made as heroes as we see...

I imagine the Jedi-Sith schism occured before the formation of the first Republic.

tumblr_obhzmfqq2S1tdh4a9o1_400.png ShaeVizla-Deceived.png I'm game for one and have it set around the Mandalorian Wars. You can have characters like Shae Vizla and Revan.. include the Sith Empire....I started playing swtor and man I love it.

Margot Robbie would be awesome as Shae Vizla who is a mercenary and bounty hunter. Chris evans as Revan would be just as awesome too. (boba fett)(falcon 2)

i'd love to see a whole film following the progress of a young hopeful working his way through the sith academy on Korriban.

set during the kotor/Reven period i guess.

if i could have my cake and eat it... i'd have 3 separate films all set at the same time:-
Star Wars The old Republic: Jedi Trials
Star Wars The old Republic: Ways of the Sith
Star Wars The old Republic: Mand'alor

each film introducing new characters trying to rise through the ranks on Dantooine/Korriban/Mandalore

then if i could have more cake... a full blown trilogy of all out war between Jedi/Sith/Mandalorians with the protagonists of my 3 prequels :D

yeah i know lol, i don't want much

Yes please. Anything that deals with the "old" era of Jedi and Sith. In a strange sort of way, Disney is already ramping up for something big; look at all the Old Republic era references within Rebels such as holocrons, temples, bendu, etc. By erasing the old canon of novels, there is currently no single piece of Old Republic work existing, (as far as I know.) So I'll be very interested to see what Disney has planned for the future...
