Also, of course Snoke is melodramatic and over-the-top. He's a SW villain cut from the same cloth as Palpy.

With weird space pimp golden robe clothing. He may as well have had a bunch of half naked FO female servants surrounding him. What does he ride around in? a gallactillac space cadillac? His facial wounds are never explained on screen. His death; I enjoyed that and I thought it was creative. I also liked it when he told Ren to "take that ridiculous thing off". I agreed with Snoke on that. Kylo's helmet was completely unnecessary. I laughed at that.
To respond to the melodramatic comment - Yes I can see why you would say that and It makes me want to go back and have another look in order for me to comment further on that.

Those mega gorilla AtAts, couldn't they think of something else? Pharma duel with Finn, great actress couldn't they use her better? Finn and Mechanic seemed forced and awkward. She actually called Finn dumb... I like my Star Wars dark (R1) so I like TLJ, just a few things that took me out of the film.

Okay, I know this is going to annoy a lot of people but here goes....I didn't like Rey post the Throne Room scene. Yes, I am a Kylo/Ben fan...but I also absolutely cannot stand female characters that 'stand there in judgement'. I loathe the sanctimonious and the self righteous, but most of all, I hate it in female characters. I liked Rey in TFA and most of TLJ because she was flawed. She wasn't perfect. She had a potential for darkness, a violent side, an impulsive trait. Yoda told Luke off for having 'too much anger' and I saw the same in Rey.
When TLJ ended with Ben on his knees and Rey standing above him looking down her nostrils at him, the flawed, 'grey' character I loved was gone, replaced by a snotty holier than thou person I didn't recognise and didn't like.
I couldn't stand Jean Grey or Storm in the X Men for the same reason.

Topless Kylo. I know it was a reference to Adam and Eve, but no thanks. When did Jedi vs. Sith become shirts v. skins?

    Well, he wasn't a Sith!
Anyway, Luke got his shirt off in ESB, and Leia practically took (almost) everything off in ROTJ, so it must run in the family. But we were saved from a naked Snoke...:p

That's right he was just a member of a street gang, knights of Ren. Thankful they didn't all go skins with Darth Topless there.
And Jabba is to blame for Leia's clothing malfunction.
It could've been worse. They could've force connected while he was sitting on the toilet. I won't complain too much.

How about in the bath? Or the shower?
Oh, and Anakin got his shirt off, albeit briefly, in ROTS.

    Nice thread, a cool idea.

For me it was Leia in space. Also, I'll never forget the heartbreak of hearing that rumbling on Canto Bight and it being the horse creatures instead of Podracers. That would have been perfect!

Those were the podracers of this story.

They were the podracers and speederbikes scenes combined and inversed. They were organic because twice before the race rides of subjugation were mechanical.

The previous two themes were variants of man vs. machine, technology vs. nature.

The Sequel flipped that into twisting nature into 'machines': that is, rather than stomping over nature with technology, technology is used to twist nature into a warped version of itself for exploitation (e.g., troopers are brainwashed, starkiller converts a planet and star into a weapon, etc...). And the flipside (read: 'good') is nature recovering domain over technology (e.g., Ahch-To, Maz's castle, the rebel hideouts, etc...).

If they had been pod racers, it would just be a copy/paste of the previous theme (technology holding nature under subjugation).

That said, of course I would loved to see more podracers and speederbikes regardless. :)

    Cheers,
    Jayson

The Gorilla At-Ats reminded me too much of Empire... couldn't they think of something else?

The FO were Imperial wannabes. It made sense to them to use imperial-like hardware.

Oh boy...I've just realised that I've introduced 'live nudes' onto a SW forum...
In response to LOTR above...the surface of Crait was a very clever move; it allowed people to see something 'off' with Luke; unlike everyone else his feet didn't break through the salty crust leaving red footprints - a clue to the fact that he was actually 'the man who wasn't there'.

The one thing I didn't like about TLJ? Uh . . . there were a lot of things and I would have to write an article to express myself.
