I have always been mostly anti-fan-theory, but this one caught my attention. Now, if this is already being discussed elsewhere on the forums, I whole-heartedly apologize. Feel free to merge or delete.

"Snoke" was a force projection created by Kylo to manipulate everyone around him, and then seize power when the time was right.

On so many fronts, it's a cool thought. Kylo using this character he's created to cast blame for so many wrong-doings, manipulate the FO from a lower position than "Snoke," keep Hux in check doing his bidding, and manipulate Rey by "rescuing" her from "Snoke" and killing him in front of her.

Even the scene where "Snoke" chastises Kylo near the beginning of TLJ could be seen as a show put on for the guards, setting up their attack/retaliation in the throne room later to help with the manipulation of Rey.

I understand that semantically there would be some issues with this theory, but I still find it very intriguing.

If Force projection killed Luke, this implies that KR is so off the charts powerful that it "breaks" our understanding of the Force. Snoke's corpse was still there when KR was unconscious.

Like I said, there are definitely semantics that break the theory.

Although I'm sure writers could work their way around that one. Maybe Kylo was one of the first ones to have this type of power, and it was still fairly new to Luke? Maybe age matters? Maybe it's a dark power? Sky's the limit when writing those types of things.

One big problem for me: why is Snoke's body still there when Hux finds Kylo unconscious? Wouldn't the illusion break if Kylo sleeps?

File this one under "no chance," though I have been an advocate of Snoke force projection theories.

I could see this theory being logical after E7, but E8 would have blown it out of the water for a wide variety of reasons.
