My favorite part of Star Wars is the interesting environments. Crait was a refreshing addition to the series and perfect for the moment but I feel like the other ST planets have been a little uninspired.

So let’s hear it folks: what planets and what kinds of planets would you like to see in Episode IX?

Which planets do you think we're likely to revisit? If I recall correctly,
the heroes are headed for the Outer Rim
which opens up some possibilities. Any PT or OT planets you think are worth visiting?

    My personal preferences would be:

    Mustafar
    Naboo
A jump to multiple planets around the galaxy at the end of the film a la ROTS and ROTJ

I just mentioned this in another thread lol but I would ABSOLUTELY just ABSOLUTELY love to see some old planets return. Mainly, for me at least, Tattooine and Endor ❤️

Agreed about Tattooine but I hope it’s eitger because (a) Luke guides them there to hide or (b) a nostalgia trip at the end of the movie. I don’t want a major plot point to coincidentally pop up on Tattooine.

I'm hoping for visits Mustafar and Dagobah; and I would put money that we see Jakku again.

Mustafar! Supreme Leader Ren should have his throne in Vader's castle and gather his knights there.

Snoke had a ring with a piece of stone from the Mustafar catacombs. Maybe there’s reason for us to be headed back there. Hopefully not a lightsaber battle on lava bucket droid heads again.

I second that – the final battle will take place there. Just as George Lucas had foreseen it with his original concept and the finale in RotJ /OT, although that would have been Coruscant back then, but a lava chamber nonetheless, including the force ghosts of the last Jedi defeating the Sith.

Mustafar would be cool to see, maybe briefly if Kylo is going there to recover some artifact. Maybe, we can get an Anakin cameo as a Force Ghost. But for me, my money is on Naboo and here is why.

    1) Practical location: That actual palace, the exterior exists in Spain, near Serville(don't quote me on that). So already given this trilogy's desire to go more practical, the planet works in its favor. As for the Gungan city, you could revisit it, but maybe it is abandoned? As in, the Gungans were killed off by the Empire/ their city is a relic. Wouldn't that make for an awesome callback if the plot focused on it?

A desolate city of a culture that most fans didn't appreciate and is now a haunted remnant of the past?

    2) Symbolism to the Skywalkers: Naboo was the home of Padme: Anakin's wife and Ben's grandmother. Imagine a scene where Ben goes and sees his grandmother's tomb. Don't tell me you wouldn't get emotional as for as the only Skywalker alive by blood, it would be kind of cathartic as Ben is very much like Anakin.

    3) It wraps the trilogies: Episode one, whether or like it or not; you cannot deny that if Abrams went this route, things would come in full circle. We started the Saga in Naboo and we ended the Saga in Naboo. But instead of droid robots, we get an actual human vs human skirmish. Because, imagine this?

We have a massive battle in the capital city, with Ties and X-wings above with ground forces battling. And within either the Throne room or generators, we see Rey and Kylo duking it out with the Knights of Ren. And Duel of the Fates is playing. I don't care who you are, but if that moment happens, that would be the ultimate display of fan-service.

But justified in my view as it ties things together. We saw in The Phantom Menance how the Sith reappeared with Maul and we end the Skywalker Saga with another dark side user of the Force duking it out.

I am biased for sure, because Naboo is my favorite PT era planet, but seriously; if JJ wants to "unify all the trilogies" this would be a good stepping stone. :)

Crait was a cool planet to see, but in many ways kind of unnecessary. I wished the planet could have been Dantooine. That would have been a cool callback to the OT as we never saw that planet in the films and there we go; we now see it in the movie.

Love your idea #2. Kylo is obsessed with Vader but knowing about Padme would show him Anakin’s humanity and capacity for love. Really any reference to Padme would have this power over him but I like your idea of him visiting her grave.

I want a good mix of old planets and new planets to expand the universe. Naboo will be an eye candy and will be a great nod to The Phantom Menace which will turn 20 when Episode IX releases in theatres. Mustafar is possible as well. The planets which will be featured will of course serve the story and its characters. Maybe we could see Kashyyyk by the end where Chewbacca comes to retire and continue his life. :)

If I am to be very honest, I just can't wait to play the LEGO video game of this new complete saga :p

Most likely already seen planets that could return: Mustafar and Jakku
Most I'd like to see: Coruscant and Naboo.

In a way the ST seems to be in a different galaxy since it doesn't have any planets or even back ground alien species that both the PT and OT share. I think bringing in some of those elements, whether it's a way to bring the story to Naboo or we see a Twi'lek walking around in the background, would be a good way to visually bring the three trilogies better together.

I generally prefer new stuff, but some nods could be good.
Tatooine is great but it feels really difficult to think how it would fit the story.

I think Mustafar is more likely, as Kylo can take pops' castle as his own.
I'm also super curious about what state Coruscant is in, although that curiosity can be satiated via off-screen material (video games, books).

I love the idea of some old planets: Mustafar would be a great base for Kylo Ren and fit in with his character, Tatooine may still hold some secrets (after all, for being a middle of nowhere place, Tatooine seemed to hold a lot of importance in both the prequel trilogy and original trilogy...there's something deep there); and Coruscant is always welcome. However, I still want to also see some new planets that are also home worlds of classic Star Wars species: places like Nal Hutta, Orto Plutonia, and Mon Cala. Emphasis on Nal Hutta!

Would be interesting if the resistance had to resort to getting help from the Hutts and the underworld.
