I predict this movie is going to add just as many questions as it will answer. Today's leak of the Visual Dictionary, while spoiling or confirming some plot lines, it's also adding questions.

What do you all think of this? The Crest from the Jedi Temple in the Visual Dictionary could be someone we've seen in Rebels. Was Snoke the Prime Jedi? Is this how he looked years ago?

I made this crude Photo to outline my theory.

    What do you all think?

Snoke apparently may be the Prime Jedi. Or maybe Rey is?

I feel like the crest is showing two eyes, and pointing to Snoke's eye sockets. I think the visual guide leaks have some text describing one of his eyes. I couldn't make out the text to see if it might be related.

    Ok?

You seriously think that looks like Snokes head? I think this is more accurate.

    Looks way more like Snoke.

Also, is the Prime Jedi the first Jedi?

Oh my god. What if Luke thinking the Jedi must end is word play for thinking Snoke needs to end

Can't imagine them using a character from the 'toons, but I'd be okay with it. I'm okay with most stuff.

It looks an awful lot like Snoke, yes. But then again, would they make him into a symbol? It could simply be a crude portrayal of any humanoid. The big head could indicate a Bith species specimen. Or someone with a helmet. Doesn't have to be Snoke, but they sure are playing with that notion willfully.

Temple guard theory also makes sense - since it would play well with all the fuss about the Jedi forgetting the "true" ways with only a cosmetic remnant living on (the look of guards, which would have been passed on for thousands of years).
But this would still need some explaining as for why the Prime Jedi has the look of a guard.

I'm especially interested in what this balanced approach does for lightsaber color

They are using elements of Chinese philosophy, which is evident in the temple mosaic and many references in the VD which could be interpreted as Rey (yin) and Kylo (yang).

It'll be interesting to see how Snoke plays into this. If he is the prime Jedi, is he trying to bring balance to the force by bringing them together as an alliance, or is he looking to drain their light/dark energy to revive himself.

Maybe he needs the galaxy to be in a permanent struggle between light and dark in order to keep himself alive.

My big question is the orientation. Is the book intentionally wrong and its upside down, or is the book correct and we are flipping it upside down just to make something out of it?

I think this is another example to hint at a new (previously not explored in the movies) view towards the Force: a combination of the light side and the dark.
The current arc in the Poe Dameron comic also touches upon this notion.

And with all the talk about balance in the TLJ trailers, I think this is where we're headed, a new type of Force-user, taking elements from both sides of the Force. No, I'm not trying to start another grey Jedi discussion, I'm just saying we have to be open to the idea that TPTB will break our notion of the Force open.

My theory still is that at the end of Episode IX, we will have a new Mortis trio (as seen in TCW): Rey the light side, Ben the dark(ish) side and Luke the one in the middle, keeping the balance.

The view of the crest on the ground in the trailer is the same as in the book. So you may be right.

As it is printed and not paying attention to the lower half, it kinda reminds me of some of the Praetorian Guards Helmets. What if their armor is based of the early armor of the Prime Jedi and Palpatine's Royal Guards are a loose derivative look of the original guards.
