It's truly incredible how smoothly this production went, especially when compared to Rogue One and the Han Solo film.

That's a great conversation between two directors. He start's talking about TLJ at 21:42.

Almost as if Kathleen Kennedy and co are not overly controlling but just have incredibly high standards that must be met.

I believe he says "pulling of a Barton Fink." It's one of the Coen brothers films. Sadly, I haven't seen it yet, so I don't know what he means by it.

PS. According to some story description, in Barton Fink the titular playwright loses all of his inspiration after hitting it big and moving to Hollywood.

That's exactly what he says and exactly what it means. It also shows how he collaborated with Story Group, by talking to them several times a week. In other interviews he said he actually had office at Lucasfilm.

Interesting that Driver would couch it as he said "what Rian had WRITTEN was remarkable..." Almost saying that the script was great now it's just up to the execution. A lot of actors/actresses would just say the film is great or going to be great. He made a point to clarify to say that what was written was remarkable. I'm sure i'm just reading too much into that but that's what stuck out to me.

As for the ambiguity part...I take that to mean that some things won't necessarily be answered or even touched upon in great length in the film...Rey's parents, Snoke, Luke's wanting the Jedi to end, etc.

Yeah that doesn't really sound great to me we need some hard answers if we kept getting strung along its looking more like LF and the Story Group simply don't know the answers then it does them really trying to be ambiguous and leave things up to interpretation.

I am interested in these new rules, I assume it relates to the Force....and since I am not a fan of Mortis Arc....this worries me.

Lucasfilm and Disney has been trying very hard not to overhype Episode VIII. Some time ago Bob Iger also made some kind of comment that was aimed to curb the excitement a little bit. I think they don't want a repeat of what we saw with Episode VII with hype being through the roof and leaving some people disappointed.

PS. It may also be a tongue in cheek comment on what's happening with the Han Solo film.

Well it makes sense Disney always tries to lower expectations before a movie. In this case its important because I don't think they expect TLJ to make as much as TFA.
