    I just reread the last 10 pages of each of those two threads, and I can't find any of the messages from this morning. Some about Rian being a piece of sh**, and people hoping something happens to him before his trilogy is written.

    YOU? Well, hello there KK. I didn't recognize you. Heck, I didn't realize you were on this forum. :)

    Seriously, as I said earlier, I think it took a lot of guts to do what he has done. Removing plot armor from basically all characters (let's face it, after TFA NO ONE expected a major character would die in TLJ), in my mind, opens this thing up. Further, it looks like RJ has learned a lesson or two from George R. R. Martin. You don't kill major characters, what you do is kill of characters the AUDIENCE thinks are major characters, thus leaving room for the true major characters to grow and develop.

    The complaining about Snoke reminds me of the complaining about the death of Darth Maul. The true villain isn't Snoke, it's Ben/Kylo. Anakin might have been redeemable, but perhaps Ben isn't? I'm excited by the possibility that this trilogy could end with the bad guys again in the ascendency and Kylo/Ben Skywalker ruling the galaxy. I doubt he is going to win, but I like this. Way to go RJ!

    Deleted what I wanted to say to keep it after a second viewing. I hope it gets better, Rian. I really hope. It was good in many ways, no doubt but it didn't live up to what The Force Awakens started off. I am questioning whether I got the wrong movie screened, but ends up getting the same with everyone else. Episode IX better be great, JJ, I believe in you. Rian Johnson, do surprise us with your trilogy. May the force be with you, and with us.

    I went into my first viewing with my mind completely open to anything, yet it still took a second viewing to truly understand what was going on, and what RJ was going for, and I’m still going through the motions with it all.

    100% it was different. It needed to be

    I like it more than TFA. I just felt RJ was more subtle and nuanced than JJ with character development
