    (sorry I also put this in the news/ rumors topic but copy & pasted this question in case if it got missed there/ hoping to see what others might say)

    Did anyone catch what Colin Trevarow said about writing Episode 9? I had thought Rian Johnson was writing both 8 & 9? Was that a mistake?

    Or perhaps are they writing 9 together? Or is Johnson just assisting a helping hand with Trevarow writing 9?

    Now that I think about it... when would Johnson have time to write 9?

    The outline - where Lucasfilm wants to take the trilogy - already exists, but it gives every writer/director a chance to make his own stamp on their respective movies. Trevorrow has both J.J. and Johnson to jump off of. I think Johnson will propose an outline after his movie and Trevorrow will work with it. There will be a lot re-writes and non-credited people involved, like always. It will be collaborative effort. Plus, you have Kathleen Kennedy and the entire story group. I wouldn't worry about Colin. Let's see how Rian does first.

    I Hope they didn't bring him in as the director because of his work on Looper, meaning they're going for something involving time-travel in Ep. VIII or Ep. IX. That would alienate so many from Star wars. Flat out.

    That's still the information, but will he have the time is another question. He will do a synopsis for sure, but the entire script... We'll see.

    just saw Looper for the first time the other day. What a strange movie


    Well with that logic TFA should already have some time travel in it seeing as JJ used time travel in Star Trek.

    Just finished watching "Looper", not the greatest movie but a nice one, think the ending ruined a little the whole movie, but in either case an original and well telled story.

    I understand.
    because of the ending the story never happened so his future self would've never been send to the past and would not want to kill the rainmaker.

    Still like Back to the Future better as a time travel movie :p

    *Looper spoiler warning*

    But the future & present individual existed up until that moment... so when he shot him that wouldn't have had any impact on past events. The character shot his *future* self, not past self. The only thing that would have changed from that point on was the future, am I missing something here?

    I gotta watch it again but the only thing that would change is that his future self wouldn't exist anymore once his present self died.
