I was watching live celebration on the SW channel and we weren’t million.
But hundreds, last time I paid attention (that minutes before the teaser hired).
That said, I started bing watching the trailer again and again once the live streaming ended.
I suppose fans that are so fans to live watch celebrations, did the same.
    All day long.
And personally I take that 11 millions views as fantastic number.
    But however... agree to disagree

    not impressed tbh

We talking about the last SW movie in the main saga here.
This teaser should be on par with the teaser of IW and Endgame in terms of numbers.

Endgame is an international phenomenon and it's super popular in countries that don't have a history with this series. I don't really care how it compares to other series since the whole cinematic universe thing isn't a competition. Like what you like.

The big takeaway is that there's a great deal of interest for this saga and it appears to be gaining momentum as we approach the final chapter.

I'm interested in IX, it doesn't mean I'll go watch it. I watched the teaser 4 or 5 times and I'm firmly in the undecided group on whether to watch this one. Just because people view a teaser does not mean they'll view the movie, or are interested in the story itself. In my case, I'm just as interested in the real life story about the fictional one. the fictional story of the ST has mostly lost me and I'm looking forward to what comes after the ST. I'm not stating I'm the major demographic, but I don't think anyone knows how big that is precisely. It will be interesting to see come December.

Yes, its a fantastic number but its still unconfirmed. No, i dont think we should assume that Deadlines anonymous sources are right. The whole article is a mess.

Is the cynisism and negativity really necessary about an article about trailer views? I don't understand the hostility or the idea that Deadline would publish lies about something so innocuous as a teaser trailer.

I think i am entitled to question an article no matter who has published it. Its not like i will assume that Deadline always is right.

Well reading the rumours the best part of RoS is going to be the trailer anyway.

In preparation for TROS, my plan is to rewatch everything - the movies(all of them), Clone Wars, Rebels, and I'll try to get to some of the new series I have yet to see(guess I might have to subscribe to Disney+) - all in GFFA chronological order. That's a TON of viewing hours. I have to get started tonight!!!

    <sigh> work, work, work ....

I am 99% certain that there are no movies or TV shows that take place before TPM. Please chime in if I'm wrong on this part.

I know of the Ewok Christmas special they did. I think i found it on youtube. Does anyone know of any other movies or TV shows not listed above that I also need to include in the list?

Well deserved considering the lack of spoilers before. Fans were taking in every second of it.

First, we should keep in mind that this numbers don't mean anything.

Detective Pikachu trailer was a tremendous success and the movie is doing average numbers (350 million worldwide and less than 150 domestic).
On the other hand, Endgame didn't pass Infinity War in trailer views (at least on Youtube) but the box office told a different story.

Now, it's a fine number but it is not an all-time record. Proof is Disney didn't post anything about the views (unlike Lion King or both Avengers trailers).

It has 29 million views on Youtube. That's average. Its about what the lowest viewed Rogue One trailer has and that was released 3 years ago.

Also, it didn't reach 1 million likes (it has 500K). That's even more average. In comparison, last trending trailers did: Joker, Detective Pikachu, Avengers (it hit 3 million), Spider-Man Far From Home, Captain Marvel, Frozen 2 was close, Lion King, Toy Story 4, even f*cking Venom.

Yeah, it may have more views than TFA and TLJ teasers but of course the number of Youtube and social media users has increased ridiculously since 2015 and 2017.

Will the movie be a success? Of course. Is there interest? Even the people who hated TLJ were going to check the trailer. But I'm 95% sure it won't be neither the highest or the second highest grossing movie of the year.

I'll add in a point that this teaser trailer was released 8 months before December 20 and after the absence of Star Wars for more than 1 year, and add in the fact due to the international phenomena that is Avengers Endgame, this is still a very solid number. Add in the hype of Galaxy's Edge that will push the Domestic interest up up up and with the introduction of Disney+, The Mandalorian, Resistance coming into play, December's hype will skyrocket.

I believe that many of the GA will take a wait-and-see approach with TROS but what is critical for the franchise to achieve is to reach the levels of hype of TLJ and TFA when the Official Trailer drops in October.

Something that also needs to be considered is the fact that Lucasfilm is one of the few studios who don’t use ads to promote/show their new trailers on Youtube like I’ve seen with many other mainstream movies.
