Thanks for the links. I read some. All of them were positive. Now I'm 24 hrs away from the most important reaction: mine.

Glad to see that the majority of the reactions are positive and some of them more than that. Only few didn't like it.

However, as everything else in life, this will be up to the personal taste of each and every one of us...

    Dear Lord,

just read only 2 on twitter. No more. I think I am done. Is where we could read important plot points.
I already know what I wanted. I think tears are guaranteed.
Can't wait for this epic finale.

Saw one reaction where basically if you liked TLJ you're gonna hate TROS. Welp... blast.

That was Vanity Fair writer and prolific podcast host Joanna Robinson, but her Vanity Fair colleague Anthony Breznican had the exact opposite opinion, so I wouldn't take what she had to say as "gospel".

I'm always going to take the first reactions of people invited to the premier with a pinch of salt as they are very rarely negative. However, still encouraging to see positive reviews!

I have everything crossed that its good!

EDIT: I've just actually braved twitter, couldn't help myself and chased down a number of reviewers. Reaction already seems to be a bit mixed

This jist seems to be: Its a bit of mess at times story-wise, but also quite fun.

If this is true I think I will be ok with it. If we are honest with ourselves expecting a coherent story that ends a 9 film arc, when the most recent trilogy had very little planning and was made at breakneck speed, and the final film was basically made at a sprint, was never going to happen.

So if its just a Fun Lightsaber adventure I can live with that.

The biggest take from them all is that it's like two or three movies in one. It's alot in the first half. That it was satisfying.

That honestly feels like a pre-packaged perspective.

So...its a SW movie. Haha, after watching all of them again, that could definitely be said about all of them (maybe not ESB).

Star Wars (1977) or A New Hope is the best in that department [imo]. Perfectly structured from start to finish.

That is one of those examples that really required a lot of work and collaboration to get to that point. If you read even the shooting script of ANH, its a jumbled mess at times. I love it so much but after reading The Secret History of Star Wars and Rinzler's Making of, it amazes me it turns out as good as it did.

Well it was the first one and nobody did something like this before. What counts is the finished product and that is imo a perfect movie, that still holds up.

John Campea literally said almost the exact same thing he said for TLJ. That he disliked it and disappointing.

Kristian Harloff on the otherhand loved it. Had a few misgivings, but positive. I thought he'd be the one to hate it.

I am not surprised by the mention of convoluted plot and expositions in the first half of the movie. I guess once they bring the Emperor back (from the dead?) there must be a lot of explaining for it to make sense.

From what I remember neither were particularly negative after the premiere of the Last Jedi. Harloff said it was a lot to take in and need to see it again and I think Campea was pretty positive.

It's very rare for Campea to come out and say he didn't like a massive release straight off the back of a premiere, he's normally quite diplomatic at that stage.

yeah, there's a lot of posts saying the first half of the film gets bogged down with explanations. I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing if the explanations make sense. Although some posts are saying they don't. But hey lots of things in the Empire Strikes Back don't make that much sense, and that has never ruined anyone's enjoyment.

TLJ he started out loving it on his first reaction then later backtracked and stated it was near the bottom with the prequels.

Yeah, that why I thought it was odd him coming out saying he didn't like it straight off the bat, normally reviewers invited to the premieres are at least diplomatic at first. Must have felt quite strongly I guess.

I honestly don't get how people can read the majority of the first reactions we've seen posted and come away with the conclusion that said reactions have been "mixed". I really don't.
