luke is only interesting because of his father, Leia has no arc without han, Kylo and vader are the most interesting skywalkers.

Well they've had their ups & downs but without them the galaxy would've been a boring place.

With that logic, you must hate Star Wars. They've been the focus for eight films...

While I definetly agree with you on account of Vader and Kylo, Leia is much more than the generic love interest you make her out to be and she can Han-dle herself just fine. It wasn't until the ending of ESB that we learned about Luke's heritage, meaning that for nearly 2/3 of the Original Trilogy, we know nearly nothing about Luke's father. People love Luke Skywalker, because of who he is, not who his father is: he's a relatable character and is a positive role model for us all.

Zazeron makes a few points I agree with.

Leia really doesn't have much of a story arc without Han. And Vader and Kylo are really interesting characters.

But Zazeron makes a point I disagree with.

Luke isn't boring at all. He faced Vader and the Emperor alone. He threw down his lightsaber. He saw the good in his father and called on him to see the good in himself.

And he brought down the Empire. Not by using the Force, or by using a lightsaber, or by using any other trick. Luke won by looking at his Sith opponent and seeing the humanity Obi Wan and Yoda couldn't see.

    Hmmm . . . nope.

I believe that Luke won by refusing to continue his duel against Vader, because Palpatine's big mouth and even bigger ego made him aware that he was giving in to evil.

I believe it was about Palpatine losing than Luke or Anakin winning. He set in motion his own downfall by gloating over Luke's rage-filled attack against Anakin, leading Luke to end the duel and toss away his lightsaber; and by trying to kill Luke and being unaware how his action was affecting Anakin.

That's why people fell in love with his character in ANH, right? The film released before Lucas' second draft of ESB, in which he made Vader his father.
Weird, it's almost like it was written that way intentionally. What's your point?

This whole attempt at generating conflict, really:
