The Solo Villain Thread

I think that it will involve the mob as well but with Boba being their gun.

 

I think we are going to see Becket or Kira (Kura?) be the main villain by betrayal. Paul Bettany seems like he could play an imperial officer that is a contact for one of those two. (or both) Boba will show up and either fight or assist solo at some point during the film but I don't think he'll be the main villain.

Just guesses but we'll see

 

The main villain with be the box-office returns...

 

I kind of want it to be Boba Fett to be it and have Han out smart him (due to luck). That way, his ego will be huge like we see in the OT and it can add more weight to the scene when Han goes into carbonite.

 

LOL, when I glanced at the list of new Cantina posts, I thought for a moment I saw this as "The Solo Violin Thread"

I kinda want this movie to be similar to Batman Begins. => Becket (Han Solo's mentor) as the villain. Boba Fett should be a side villain or even a friend.

 

Just a few thoughts:

Jabba- We know Jabba and Han have a past. However, in this film I expect he won't be a primary villain, as in A New Hope it seems that their working relationship has just recently ended. If anything, he may be in the movie as an employer of Han.

Boba- I'd really dislike Boba Fett to directly interact with Han in this movie. If anything, maybe we could have something like Anakin and Greivous in The Clone Wars, with both having their own storylines, and teasing their meeting while never actually bring the two face to face.

Greedo- I think having early interactions with Greedo would be great

Other ESB Bounty Hunters (Dengar, IG-88, Bossk, 4-LOM, Zuckuss)- I like the idea of these guys showing up in the movie, but not as a primary antagonist. Heck, maybe not even as antagonists at all. It would be neat to see Han working alongside them.

Cad Bane- If the deleted scene from The Clone Wars with his implied death isn't canon, it would be great to feature Cad Bane as an antagonist in Fett's storyline (assuming Fett got one).

Other Clone Wars Bounty Hunters (Aurra Sing, Embo, Hondo etc)- Like the ESB bounty hunters, it would be neat to see them show up in some sense. Added bonus for them, since they'd further bridge the original films to the prequels.

Original Bounty Hunters- It can't all be cameos and fan service. I'd assume we'll see scum that hasn't even been revealed yet.

Lando- Will likely be a friend to Han. If he betrays him in this movie, the betrayal in ESB is lessened. Maybe starts the movie as a villain or target, though.

Existing Imperial villain (Vader/Tarkin/Kallus, etc)- Not a fan of this idea. The Empire's presence should be felt in this movie, but I think it benefits from being truly faceless for once, leaving the more interesting characters to the scum.


Original Imperial villain- Again, I think the Empire is better off as a completely faceless regime in this movie, but this would at least be better than a forced cameo from a fan favorite character

Betrayal (Beckett, Kira, etc)- I see it like this: Han will probably get betrayed in this movie, but I don't think the person who does so will serve as the primary antagonist. Rather, I'd see them as a swashbuckling, back-stabby, lovable goon who ultimately rejoins Han, kind of Jack Sparrow-ish (before Depp ruined the character). I think Harrelson would be fantastic in this role, especially as Han's apparent mentor.

 

Me want the Fett ..

 

I'm interested to see how the handle Tag & Bink.
Kinda hoping they use them like Pintel and Ragetti from "Pirates of the Caribbean".
Technically villains, but with a humorous bent.

 

I predict a presence on the level of Aurra Sing.

 

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking.

Fett and Solo seem like they're aware of each other in the OT, but it doesn't seem like they have a ton of history.

Greedo and Solo, though- seems like they've been enemies (or frenemies) for quite a while before the Cantina scene.

 

A description of the main villain has leaked on reddit. He sounds like something that walked off the set of Clive Barker's Hellraiser.

 

I haven't thought of a 'main villain' until this very moment ... maybe Han's nerf-herder-attitude causes enough trouble by its own ...
