The Star Wars Show: Star Wars Celebration 2019 Will Take Place in Chicago April 11-15th

Awesome for me. No travel expenses and it is at McCormick Place which has a massive amount of space.

Cool, so they're sticking to the April tradition. That's fine, the rumours about autumn and Europe were pretty weird.

 

So just checked a little space info. In Orlando the 2 largest venues for events were in a 62K square feet ballroom and a 2600 seat theater. McCormick place theater has 2000 more seats and the largest ballroom is just over 100K square feet. Exhibit hall in Orlando was 637K sqft and the exhibit hall space right outside the largest ballroom is 890K sq feet. McCormick place also has another exhibit hall over 800K square feet.

Oh also forgot a new Basketball Arena that seats 10,000 is now attached via pedway.

 

2019 is Episode IX release year. What a coincidence! (!)

A US Celebration for 2019 was always going to happen, because LFL/Disney don't do Celebrations outside the US in Episode release years, because they apparently don't care about the rest of us who are outside of the US, because only 5% of the world matters to them and ignore the other 95% of humanity....

 

yeah, McCormick is stupidly enormous with all the extra halls added in, so this choice totally makes sense. it's 100% totally perfect.

[totally isn't just saying that because i totally just live down the street and this is like winning the SW lottery!]. XD

 

How long has been previous Celebration?

the rumor for it being at the Excel Arena in London.. 15 miles from me down one straight road.

I get what @SKB is referring to. Europe only gets the standalone movie celebrations. Celebrations for the episodes will always be in the US. Something like that.

It's been a long journey getting to Chicago, I'm sure members from this state are glad the force was finally with them.

 

Can't wait! But I guess i'll have to since it's next year LOL.

This will be my first Star Wars Celebration. My friend knows Chicago very well and has been there many times but it'll be my first time in the Windy City. Him and I have been saving $$$ and planning to go to SW Celebration for a while now and when he saw it was going to be in Chicago he couldn't believe his luck.

Looking forward to go to this kind of Celebration for years now, I think I'm gonna attend in 2019!
