I turn 40 in a few months and I've been a Star Wars fans since I was a child, but I never really bought Star Wars toys. With so many films and new content coming out is the market for this stuff going to die? When there's 3 films every 15 years I understand it, but we've had 4 movies in 4 years. Plus, kids don't really buy toys anymore as ipads, tv, phones have eaten away at market share. Toy R Us going out of business is an example of the change. So with so many films being pushed out will people still buy this stuff?

I'm not entirely sure how true that is. https://www.powerrangersnow.com/power-rangers-movie-becomes-top-selling-action-figure-brand/

And keep in mind, this was the year The Last Jedi came out, the year where Hasbro was reporting significant declines in Star Wars toy sales. I think kids are more prone to gravitate towards electronics these days, but the ones that still buy toys, I'd like to think, buy the ones they think are exceptionally cool or can have the most fun with. That might explain why the toy sales for TFA were so strong, with appealing-looking figures like Phasma and Masked Kylo Ren to garner their interest---similar to kids picking up toys for things like Power Rangers or Transformers, the cool designs. TLJ didn't really provide any new additions in that department, and even decreased that number by making Kylo primarily maskless. Barring whatever case anyone makes over how good or bad the characters are, something that definitely persuades kids to buy toys are characters that look they'd make for cool action figures, or that they've done impressive things within the films. Even really thin characters like Jango Fett, General Grievous, and Darth Maul (at the time of TPM) were popular figures specifically because of how they looked or what they did on-screen. I'm not entirely sure either those things really apply to most of the cast of the ST, at least as far as toys go.

Things for Toys R Us might not be that bleak after all. https://www.ign.com/articles/2018/1...-auction-canceled-brand-may-live-on-after-all

I love the body sculpt! Yes, no goofy-looking soft goods. However, there's something off about the head... Looks too skinny, perhaps? Maybe the hair is too big or there's something going on with the head shape, I don't know...

Anyway, I'm totally getting this. Maybe two, to keep one boxed, we'll see. :p Hopefully, my Crait Luke collection becomes reality one day!

agree! this shouldn't have just been a bust. also, the Rey in this series has a great costume, etc., but i think her hair is too thick and heavy, unfortunately.

Agreed... I see what they went for, but it doesn't look like it worked.

Anybody know when The Vintage Collection Luke Skywalker figure is supposed to be coming out in stores? I want to get one to keep in the box and put on the shelf next to my Vintage Collection TFA Kylo. I had heard it was supposed to be out in July and it’s already August with no new news from what I’ve seen. At this point, I might just wait to pick it up on Triple Force Friday.

Are you talking about Crait Luke? It’s already available on online retailers, but I have yet to see it at a single brick and mortar store, and I’m not sure it will reach them by the time Triple Force Friday rolls around. The focus of that will probably be all of the toys they’re releasing specifically for Jedi: Fallen Order, The Mandalorian and The Rise of Skywalker. I would just buy it online from a reliable retailer. (I’ve heard Entertainment Earth is good for collectors who want to keep figures in the box because Amazon and Walmart are not reliable in that regard.)

If you're a collector looking to keep the figures carded (and you want complete collections) then Entertainment Earth is a fantastic option. I buy each wave as a case and they send it well protected and for a reasonable price. I mean sure, every once in a while I need to go to eBay to buy, for example, a WalMart or Target exclusive, but EE fulfills at least 90% of my wish list.
