The Things You Like Least About Every Star Wars Film

TPM
- The general feeling of it being a bit disconnected to the other two prequel films, as if its part of its own separate trilogy
- Why didn't Qui-Gon just exchange his Republican credits for local money? It's the one thing bothering me every single time I see the movie.

AOTC
- "I truly, deeply, love you" scene. The other romantic scenes don't bother me as much as this one.

ROTS
- "You... are.... so.... beautiful" scene. Erase it from the movie and it wouldn't make any difference to the plot.

RO
- Bail's first appearance is awkward. The epic music doesn't make sense.
- Jyn's speech is cringy and feels pretty forced, its just totally out of her character.

ANH
- Nothing.

ESB
- Nothing, really.

ROTJ
- The plan to rescue Han is pretty stupid when you break it down.
- The new music scene at Jabba's Palace is extremely bad, and the only thing that I utterly dislike about the Special Editions.

TFA
- The plot is too much like ANH.
- Finn and the stormtrooper paradox, plus his comedic character doesn't make sense.
- Poe's plot resurrection.
- Han goes back to being a smuggler.
- The First Order has too much money to make sense.
- The Resistance has too little money to make sense.
- Han's comment about Chewie's bowcaster.
- The hero beating the villain in the first movie.
- Luke is in the movie for 30 seconds.

ANH - Luke is useless and whiny. Power converters anyone? In an adventurous space western swashbuckler film our hero annoys the other characters, learns how to deflect laser shots with a laser sword using the Force, and then...never uses that trick again storming through a battle station filled with people to fight and lasers that need deflecting, and instead later on jumps in a fighter and shoots a torpedo at a base. Where's the sword fight for our hero?! I'm not saying that it's illogical; I don't care about that. I'm saying there was a wealth of opertunity to give me a Luke going crazy with the cheesewiz and well...take it away Shaman Bill Hader



ESB - Boring. Zoom lens use. Luke is useless and whiny...again. "NOOOOOOO!" At least he got a sword fight...that he loses. *sigh* Maybe the next one. Dry. The film is absent of much sound outside of the actors' voices and specifically targeted sounds, and there's large gaps of silence between dialogue for dramatic effect, but with no music or anyone talking, and hardly any additional sounds It's just all too quite. Like I'm standing in an old run down church.

ROTJ - The whole second act is dry. Luke's finally getting sword play, and even gets a good start with lots of action where he's actually saving the day swashbuckler style! But that's what we opened with and that was pretty much all of it. For the entire trilogy about sword fighting with space swords and magic, we got one all out stomp the face down fight scene. *sigh* At least I had action figures so I could make up more. Why are we stopping the fight scene to talk? It's better if I just don't think of this as an action movie about sword fighting knightly heroes who save the world from evil, and instead think of it as spaceship battles peppered with four sword fights over three movies, one of which barely existed and was fought by two people who could barely move due to the technicalities of the props and costumes, and one stopped repeatedly to have dramatic conversation, and one stopped right when it was getting good. So I got one nice long sword fight out of the deal. At least that one battle was pretty awesome!

CGI'ed OT - The gamma levels of the CGI do not match the live action, and color correcting the whole film to a more red tone doesn't hide it; it makes the film look worse.

TPM - Attempting to scientifically quantify the Force with midichlorians...also...digital note communication method mineral? That's what you just said to me...midi...chlorian. The CGI is far too polished by comparison to the live action regarding light, and consequently looks like a cleaner version of actors shoved into video games circa the mid 1990's like Mark Hamill in Wing Commander.

The writing for Anakin...Kitster...probably the most useless side-character ever.

Look...all I needed was this one shot without anyone talking and then fade out while they lean in and kiss at a distance. This whole scene was so slow, and Lucas just isn't good enough at writing intimacy, so he really should have let this one go (or called Kasdan to fix his dialogue; one of the two).

TFA - Nothing. I f***ing love this movie. It's everything I wanted out of the OT. Better camera work, better cinematography, better action, better scene continuity, better motion, a hero who doesn't whine and doesn't fight anyone the entire movie...Luke's only direct fight (I'm not talking spaceship fights) is with a garbage monster...and we don't see the fight. I'm really trying to think of anything I don't like in this and I can't think of one. (yes, I know plenty of folks do, but for me...nope)

TLJ - I wish they would have cleaned up the edit on Finn's rucksack. That's going to bug my eyes every time I see it. However, I love everything else about this film. Though...I could have done without the milk scene...but meh. It's not that big of a deal.

ANH. Dam near perfect movie. Well the part when old Ben sliced up Dr. Evazan & PB it was way up close. Where they trying 2 avoid an R? Well it was 2 close.

Saga. Calling Kylo Ren a Skywalker is like calling Bob Hope English or Nicole Kidman American. They were born in those countries but EVERYONE thinks them as American & Australian respectfully.

 

The clunky dialogue and plot holes.

 

ANH- Perfect movie. But I always thought Han wouldn't say, "May the force be with you." at the end of the movie.

ESB- Perfect movie

AOTC- Anakin and padme's terrible romance

ROTS- Padme dying for no reason

Rogue One- The title card, it also annoys me everytime I watch when Jyn doesn't grab the hologram

ANH- no yoda

ESB- nothing

ROTJ- The fact that Luke and Leia are siblings

TFA- A New Hope copy story points

TLJ- Ackbar's death

ANH- Perfection. (Hated the Jabba scene in the New Edition)

ESB- Lightsaber fight was brilliant but always a little too long for me.

ROTJ- Perfection. (Hated the redo of the song in the New Edition)

Prequels

TPM- Pacing issues, bland characters, too much Jar Jar screen time

AoTC- Confusing moments, waaaay too much CGI, lame love story

RotS-Preggers reveal was kind of lame, needed more practical effects, "Noooooo!" (Though I love it now for nostalgic reasons)

Sequels-

TFA- Han's death, starkiller plot with no one reacting to an entire solar system being wiped out, Rey being too good at everything (even though I like her-that just bothers me)

TLJ- Luke's death (though I am starting to accept and understand the more I think of the film), Rose's pointless political commentary/Finn shaming, The Nobody reveal

Stories/Other

RO- secondary characters undeveloped/wooden, could use just a pinch more humor, beach planet could have been something a little more creative than stormtroopers frollicking at the beach

 

Ep | - the pod racing scene was too long...Jar Jar Binks was just a little over the top...Darth Maul death...Anikin accidentally saving the day

Ep || - oh lord where to start...for me it was all of the Anikin and Padme scenes....the chemistry was non exsistant (even though we knew the end game) so there were no stakes...and Anikin was down right stalkerish...it was very uncomfortable and unbelievable. and I’m sorry I know some people have problems with Reylo...and that’s fair...but they have better chemistry and they aren’t even a thing! And we don’t know the end game..,more at stake. Plus they are both better actors IMO.

Ep ||| - this is my fave out of the PT...except the No at the end of darth Vader’s scene. And again Hayden’s performance. It was the best of the two but still some lines were so cringeworthy

Ep |V - really I can not fault this to much...except leia seeming ok her home planet is gone...Chewbacca not getting a medal...very small gripes

Ep V - I actually didn’t like the dagobah stuff...but I can appreciate it for what it needed to do...I was really bored at cloud city. I would say empire is one of least fave (I know such a sacrilege)

Ep V| - I was not a big fan of the Jabbas Palace...the singing scene added? WTF!!

Ep V|| - I really liked it but If I had to fault it, would be the Rathtar scene. We could have gone on without it...there was no need.

Ep VIII - two words flying Leia! Also bb8 saving them in a chicken walker. Rose saving Finn...DJs Stammer! It was incorrect and unnecessary
