SPECULATION The Three Wise Monkeys and TFA

The Three Wise Monkeys and The Force Awakens... So everyone's familiar with the three wise monkeys and their 17th century axiom, "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil", right? Now there are a number of interpretations of this but in the West, it's generally considered as "Turning a blind eye" (usually to some atrocious act or series of acts). Well, someone on these boards recently posted some photos from the toy line for TFA and every one of the characters had their mouths and or ears covered (speak no evil, hear no evil). Then, thinking back to the posters that were released a week or two ago, every character had one of their eyes obscured (see no evil). So here's my theory...much like the events just prior to WWII, most of the world turned a blind eye to Hitler and the actions of the Nazi's. After all, the people of the world had just finished "The War to End All Wars" (World War I) and they were not eager for more bloodshed. So maybe that's where the New Republic/Resistance stand? The New Republic, weary of further bloodshed, turn a blind eye to the growing First Order. The Resistance, recognizing the threat, mobilize to save the Galaxy before it's too late.
